That Kentucky "Murder" Was Suicide

Remember that guy in Kentucky who was found hanged with the word "Fed" scrawled across his chest? I just saw a news story that it has been ruled a suicide. He staged it to look like a murder because he had recently taken out two life insurance policies that would not pay if he committed suicide.

The life insurance two-year waiting period concerning suicide is that if you commit suicide within two years of the date of the policy the insurance company does not have to pay. This is "prevention of insurance fraud". If you commit suicide more than two years after starting the policy, they consider that you were of (reasonably) sound mind at the time you took out the policy and not taking it out for the insurance proceeds.

There's also a payout to the families of federal employees killed while on the job.... not large, but it's another $10K.
