While sending Christmas cards is less common now, seems like every time I was at a CVS or Walgreens in the past month someone was in picking up custom Christmas cards.

We sent 20

We received 11. 2 from family, 9 from friends.

Did you get any?

We got one today, mailed 9 days ago.

Sent zero.

Haven’t sent any in years. When the kids were small we would send photo cards, never sent a traditional card.

Received one. From my financial planner.

No Christmas card from my financial planner, just a box of Ethel M Candy. HOWEVER he sends a card for every other holiday. His now adult children are both into photography and he has custom cards made for every holiday with photos they have taken.

Haven't sent any cards in probably 25 years or longer. Used to get 3-4 or so but haven't gotten any in few years. I am okay with not getting any. They seem like a waste to me.
25 years ago probably was peak Christmas card sending and receiving time for us. Our kids were 13 and 9 so we had to send cards to the families of their friends in school and Little League and Soccer. Great Grandparents, and Grandparents , Aunts and Uncles were still alive and EXPECTING a card.

You did not HAVE TO send cards to the bolded people. There may have been social pressure to do but there was no requirement to do so. 25 years ago my daughters were 9 & 7 and we never once sent or received cards from these types of people. I only ever sent cards to a handful of relatives.

Received : I think 9. I can't check because I've already started the holiday cleanup.
3 relatives, 3 friends and 3 Business type

I sent out 7

Not a requirement, just a social norm.

I received 3 cards from businesses at work

And about 16 at home. We still send a family photo card, even though kids are grown. But it's now often a New Year's card as it's hard to get all of them together.

Took the picture on Christmas Eve and mailed cards today. It was the first time all 4 kids were together with us since May 2024.

We mailed about 30 cards out to close friends and family.

We've done photo cards off and on over the years. Last year we did a New Years photo card but only to a handful of people.

We only got 1 card this year.

Back when we were better about sending them, we received more but I always felt like many only sent them out of obligation, which was either true...or those people also stopped sending cards like we did.

Only sent 4 this year.
Received 4 from friends and relatives and 5 from businesses.
We used to do over 100, but no one sends anymore. The Dis used to have a very active card exchange. Postage is just too high now for a lot of people.

I sent around 15 I received about 5 most people I know don’t do them anymore as they are older and just can’t or they are younger and never did - kind of sad to me I enjoy the whole experience myself ymmv

Years ago I had a long list - 50 or more. Cut down over the years. I felt that some people were sending one after they received mine.

For a number of years, most were from young families with pictures of their children.

These last two years I stopped mailing since my DH passed. I received 5 total this year.

I make a few calls now near and far and I have a list of people I text that I have constant contact with all year round.

It was a nice tradition. I think the best part about it was maintaining relationships with friends/family who weren’t in your everyday life. Yearly cards kept you in touch even if you hadn’t seen or spoken to each other for a while. Christmas cards kept you up to speed, watching the children grow or who got divorced or was no longer with us. Social media phased that aspect out.

I received between 11-20.
The only people I send a card to are those that aren’t on any social media. The amount I sent was about 10,
