Thursday, Jan 23rd was the day that we arrived, and it was cold. I think it was something like a high of 55 degrees that day. But the sun was shining and it felt great.

I love the way you can change fp+'s at the last minute, too. That was really lucky to get TSMM.

We've only seen that Little Mermaid show once, and I agree, it was very disjointed.

It was cold in the morning for sure. IT did end up warming up fairly well (for us that is), but the first few hours in the morning were a bit on the cold side.

It was really lucky that we got TSM on that short of notice. I didn't have such luck on the last trip.

yay for dhs! i do have to agree that i'm pretty picky when it comes to clothes in disney, i usually wont buy anything, but the past few trips ive bought a sweater cause it was too cold, and last week had to buy a tank top cause i was dying of heat at 9am….

I'm totally picky when it comes to Disney clothes too, but my Dad just takes it to another level. LOL.

It was a pretty good show that time around, I was pretty pleased.

Bad: I just found this TR. Sad I had missed it thus far.
Good: I just read the whole thing and took notes so I could comment.
Bad: I cleaned my desk off in a fit of pique and accidentally threw away the sticky note with said comments.

So - all you get is the following:

1. I adore your family.
2. I'm so sorry your mom was feeling cruddy. I've totally been there, and it is AWFUL!
3. I am loving all the pullovers and the makeup!
4. I had so much else to say. Meh.

FP+ is really starting to show some real benefits I think. Getting a TSMM day of is pretty impressive.

I agree. The VotLM is made or broken by Ariel's voice. It's a strange show though. Kind of the reader's digest version of the story. But I guess it has to be to be able to move more people through in a day.

I was really happy she was feeling better too. I didn't want her to miss out on anything else!

Maybe I should take my shirt to the Imagineers and be like "this....this is what it's supposed to look like!"

I agree on the benefits. It was super easy to make the changes that day and we got a time we could deal with.

I put on my lovely Beauty and the Beast pullover. Love this one.



Here is the back for all to see.

LOVE this one!

So we start walking into the park, and Pop comments on how it's colder than he expected. Really Pop? Really? You know how cold it's been! I think I need to take to mothering him the way I mothered Mom that morning. Do other men seem to do this? Because the men in my family TOTALLY do!

Mom suggests finding a windbreaker. However, we call Pop a snob. No totally, he really is. He's super picky about clothing and the like, so we say he's totally stuck up. Having to suggest he find a windbreaker on Disney property is dicey. He loves his Disney polos (now, they are tech polos, you know golf ones. He doesn't wear cotton ones...see....snob!), but outerwear. Not so much.

Thankfully we found one in the first store we went in. Woooo. Dodged a bullet there. He said it would come in handy for golf. Sold!

We took some PP pictures afterwards, so you can see the snob wearing the new windbreaker that passed his inspection.

I am dying over this! You know how it went down on my TR!

Yes. Other grown men definitely do this!

And sadly Jeff turned up his nose at the one Pops is wearing, though it was his backup plan. I like it!

I get all of my Disney stuff from Hot Topic, and some from Wet Seal. Hot Topic mostly. I always tell Katt too that if she ever wants something, to let me know and I'd have it shipped here. I think their shipping to Canada is pretty expensive.

Awesome that FP+ worked out so well for you with your park change. I think that's a big benefit - you don't necessarily need to be at rope drop to get the big things in (TSMM in particular).

It's been a long time since I've seen VotLM. I guess I'll have to get back there again someday and refresh my memory of it.

Yay! I'm so glad your mom was able to make it out to DHS because she was feeling better! When I was younger, I never believed in the benefit of rest when sick unless I had the flu or something and just wanted to sleep. But now that I'm older, I have seen with my own eyes how just staying in bed and resting for a day can really help lessen the severity of a cold. As much as it stinks that your mom had to do that, it's great to see that it paid off!

Switching to DHS was probably a good idea. There's a lot of indoor attractions and shows in that park, whereas AK has you outside more. And if anyone ever argues that us overboard Disney vacation planners can't be go with the flow or have loose plans, you just showed how it's easy to change things on the fly. Which, FP does help a lot with. It is ince to be able to change your selections whenever you want, and if you do it before park opens then 9 times out 10 you land the headliners.


It's been years since I've seen LM, so it was fun to look through your pictures of the show. That Sebastian picture cracked me up!


Oh, and I loved your HM inspired makeup for that morning!

Yay for mom feeling better! EE would have been tough on a recovering throat. VoTLM is a nice indoors attraction. Little dated though. Fix up those clips! I never thought of Eric as mute in the show....now I will have to see it again!

Oh believe me, I have had many a trial and error. It seriously just takes practice. And even then, I still make some major mistakes sometimes.

I agree, it's totally dated. I often wonder what they would put in there, but changing anything takes money, so you know. I don't hold my breath.

Awesome! It's a seriously awesome one. I bought the tank too. I actually got the tank first amazingly enough, and then that one later. I just never got to wear the tank until May.

My skills just come from a ton of practice. I just like messing around.

It really worked out perfectly. Now, that being said, I wouldn't foresee it working that well during busier times of year, but at that point it was just switch and go.

It was the best thing for her to do. Believe me, I've been there on vacation myself, and then made the stupid choice to just push too hard. I didn't want to do that this time.

Aha, see I'm super clever and you can't see what I did. I layered. I had a super warm long sleeved black shirt on underneath there, that made my outfit totally toasty warm. My Pop had a sweater with a regular shirt on underneath, so it was too cold for him.
