That Foo's Boo Is Incredible!!! - Jan 14 TR *THE END 7/19 Pg. 51*

Oh geez, the crop jobs of your faces on SSE are...interesting...

PINK DRINK :lovestruc it's so pretty!

Sorry the queso fundido didn't live up to your expectations :( That chicken on the sharing platter looks so good!

Hahaha oh Popadon. I could totally see myself doing that too. Not drunk, just a little clumsy!

KRONK!! MY SPINACH PUFFS!

Heeheehee...your schoolbread.

I am so sorry your mom missed out on the fun.. There is no sleeping in Disney, unless you have the flu!!! She will need to double her fun on future trips to make up for it.

The abandoned wheelchairs are everywhere! Early in the morning, the parking lots are full of them.

Can't wait until your newest TR! Any chance there will be a soft opening soon?:lmao:

That rose margarita is so pretty. I am going to have to try it. We used to have a Mexican restaurant that served a frozen rose Rita. I'm wondering if it's pretty similar. I loved those things!

Your poor dad. I'd be crying if I dropped my margarita. Lol

Hope your mom was feeling well enough to join you the next day. No fun being sick in Disney.

I started reading your TR yesterday on my lunch break at work (it was month end and I was stressing - I needed my dose of Disney to make the day move quicker!). Oh, my goodness! I actually had to stop a few posts in as I was laughing out loud and people were starting to look at me! :rotfl2: I just wanted to let you know I'm really enjoying reading about your adventures. Your writing style is wonderful and I love that your family are all a little wacky! I'm looking forward to more installments!

Oh Epcot…I miss you already!! It was actually super nice to spend a lot of time there this past week, Jenna really liked that park, I think it was her favorite, and none of my friends ever really like spending time there haahah, bonus for me!

Yay for tequila!! Man those margaritas are all so tasty! I've gotten much more into the on the rocks variety recently and enjoy them so much more than blended…plus…sugar content… :rolleyes1 lol

I feel your Pop, I totally spilt sangria all over the table at HDDR last year..whoops! Sometimes that just happens!

Dinner looks amazing! definitely on my list of places to try!!

Just starting your report today! Your family seems so fun, I love it.

We were there in January and our dates overlapped with yours, I keep looking for us in the background of your photos :)

:welcome:

I'm glad you're here!

I always totally do that with peoples TR's when they overlap mine. It hasn't happened to me yet, but I'm pretty sure at some point it will. :rotfl2:

Awww your poor Mom being ill, I hope her rest day helped her recover!

The cronut (sorry croissant doughnut ;) ) sounds amazing and I'm so please it's on the DDP :thumbsup2

I'm loving all of your purchases :)

It did work out for the best. She wasn't perfect in the end, but she was much much better.

Hehe. Yes, the croissant doughnut is amazing. I highly recommend it to everyone.

Entrance F is our favorite since we don't even have to mess with Grand Avenue if we don't want to. Of course the biggest downfall with the mall layout is that the play area is fairly close to the Disney Store and they always want to stop and play for awhile. I'm having some serious roller coaster withdrawals, so I think a friend of mine and I are planning a Six Flags day within the next month - her dad works there so we might be able to get some discounted tickets or free parking.

I got a chance to catch up on most of the previous posts in this TR - I am loving Yeti!

Totally understand that. We always come in avoiding Grand too. It's just a hot mess. LOL.

A Six Flags day sounds nice. I worked there for six years of my teenage / adult life, so I don't go often anymore. After getting in for free for the longest time, I just can't justify it anymore. It's getting insanely expensive for me.

I'm adding more and more places to eat to the list for my vague 'in the hopefully not too distant future' trip that I want to take lol. I'm not much of a drinker but I have to admit that that margarita looks so good. What amazing vinylmations! Emperors New Groove and Wreck it Ralph! They're two of the best Disney movies IMO and those ears are just the best!

I always add more and more places for my trips! I've eaten at the bulk of them, but I want to start adding new ones. For my upcoming trip, I basically let my friend pick all of the restaurants because she hasn't been in almost 12 years.

I totally lucked out on those vinyls, I was completely happy with them.

I feel for your mom having to miss out on things being sick at Disney. I had that experience back in Jan. 2010 and it's so tough. Being sick at home is one thing - you maybe miss out on work, but that's not so bad. Missing out on new Disney dining, though - not cool (I missed our first visit to Le Cellier on that trip - I sent Dug to go on his own). Nice of your pop to get the soup and mac and cheese for your mom!

I've missed out on trips before too, so I could totally feel her pain. I actually had it happen to me overseas when I suffered a perforated ear drum. It was terrible.

Yes, I too wish that I could ride Spaceship Earth before dinner every night. Or really any Disney attraction. Yes, that would be acceptable. :thumbsup2 Yikes on the SE pictures, though!

I'm totally with you. I would ride literally any Disney attraction I could before dinner every night.

I don't know what it is about La Hacienda, but they always seem to have top-notch servers! I still remember we had Jonathan on our first visit in back in 2010 - he was just that good! We actually asked for him again on another visit, but he wasn't working - however, we had another fantastic server. Glad you had a great one too.

That's awesome that they always seem to have great servers. That's always great to hear.

Yes, that is a good margarita! We like to get the margarita flight at La Hacienda. I'm not sure if they actually have it on the menu, but it's a nice way to try a variety of them! :thumbsup2

Hmmm, I'm going to have to get the margarita flight I think.

That is interesting you say that about the Queso Fundido. We got that back on our first visit (the restaurant was still pretty new) and it was AMAZING. Like we were both just raving about it and wanted to keep eating it forever and ever. So, we had high expectations on our other visits. We had it on our last trip and were kinda disappointed. We were both like, "This isn't as good as it used to be". :confused3 They must have changed something - and not for the better. But, like you, we ate it all anyway. :rotfl:

It was actually your TR and saying how great it was that made me totally excited to try it. I'm glad I'm not crazy and wasn't the only one that thought it wasn't great. LOL. I'm also not the kind to waste food, so I'll totally eat pretty much anything. Even if I'm disappointed in it.

Oh, that's a bummer they don't take TiW anymore! :sad2: Didn't realize that.

Mmmmm, munching on those chips. Those were always delish too - hope they still are!

Love that avocado margarita!! Will probably have it this next trip...so good!

Mmmmm, school bread. You are really making me want a midnight snack (and a margarita) here! :rotfl2:

Funny about the margarita spill and the CM reactions! :rotfl:

I had absolutely no idea that they didn't accept it. Lesson learned I guess.

The chips were delicious!

School bread and a margarita would be awesome right now!

Hi Danielle! A very belated welcome back to you!! I'm looking forward to hearing about your latest adventures after this TR is a wrap. Sounds like it was a great trip. It will be fun to read along and see what you were up to at the 24 hour party at WDW... I couldn't resist messaging you after 1am. I thought you'd still be partying 24 hour style.

I'm totally in the process of just catching up on everyone's TR's! However, this time I've taken the route of last updates, because it's just too much otherwise. I'd be going on my next trip before I caught up. LOL.

I can't wait to tell the story of our trip! I'm trying to get pretty far with this, and then I'm going to start the thread. Not too much longer.

I loved getting your message! That was so awesome that you were partying on the west coast and I was partying on the east coast. I'm easily amused. :lmao:

You can say you remember when the Frozen Meet/Greet line was only 2 hours long!! :rotfl2: Those lines are crazy. Malestrom is always an exciting adventure - especially going back over the falls.

It's a bummer that La Hacienda doesn't accept TiW. I think they did for a period of time when they first opened since I have a photo of a receipt from our meal there in 2011. Anyway.... I think my server last time did me a favor by talking me out of the queso fundido. He said it was too cheesy. :lmao: I thought that was odd. Your combo platter looks really tasty! As does your margarita.

I'm not a fan of the avocado margarita either....and I like the frozen varieties. :)

I know right?! To think that they got up to four hours, it's just crazy. Nope. FP+ all the way, or I'm not seeing them.

I do know they did accept TIW for a while, but I know every year they also re-visit the restaurants and make changes, so I probably just missed that memo. I totally miss memos all of the time.

Good on that server talking out of the queso fundido. It was a disappointment to say the least. Everything else was fabulous though.

We're in Chicagoland and feel the same way about the restaurants. Our local butcher sells really good beef, especially filet mignon, so we don't usually eat that at a WDW restaurant. And then there is pizza - I think we have eaten pizza at WDW maybe three times in twenty years. We have a local - non-franchised pizza here that can't be beat.
:goodvibes

We're definitely fortunate to live in this area, don't you think?

I do enjoy the Via Napoli pizza at Disney, because haven't eaten the real stuff in Italy, it's pretty stinking close. I absolutely will not eat a hot dog there. As for the other pizza....if I have no idea what else to eat, I'll get it. But out of desperation. :rotfl2:

Bummer your mom wasn't feeling better!!

That share platter and margarita look amazing!

We often chose Epcot for dinner and several times I've thought, I wish I could ride SSE before any regular meal...

I know, I felt so bad for her!

It was so good! I would totally eat there again. Just so many yummy restaurants to choose from.

Interesting is a good way to put it.

It was a beautiful and completely tasty drink.

I'm totally clumsy too, so I would completely do something like drop a drink. It's not out of the realm of possibilities.

HE EVEN HAS HIS OWN THEME MUSIC!

Heeheehee...your schoolbread.

I am so sorry your mom missed out on the fun.. There is no sleeping in Disney, unless you have the flu!!! She will need to double her fun on future trips to make up for it.

Best school bread ever. Spoiler alert...they did it on this last trip too. :rotfl:

There is sleeping in Disney on my trips. :lmao: But also lots of fun, so sickness just puts a damper on things.

It's insane right? It totally makes it look like a wheelchair graveyard.

Hahaha, perhaps there will be a soft opening soon.

I highly recommend that margarita. I was very happy with it.

I would have totally cried too if I dropped my margarita. Considering what they cost.....:rotfl:

I started reading your TR yesterday on my lunch break at work (it was month end and I was stressing - I needed my dose of Disney to make the day move quicker!). Oh, my goodness! :welcome:

I'm so happy that I could add some joy into your month end day. It was month end for us yesterday too, and then I had to go in this morning to do my normal reporting and journal entries, so the upcoming weeks goes by better.

We are certainly all a little off center. And that's okay by me! :rotfl:

This looks absolutely delicious!

Dinner was absolutely delicious.

Oh Epcot…I miss you already!! It was actually super nice to spend a lot of time there this past week, Jenna really liked that park, I think it was her favorite, and none of my friends ever really like spending time there haahah, bonus for me!

I miss it too. :sad1:

That's awesome that Jenna enjoyed it! I love love love Epcot, we spend so much time there. In November, we'll be there three days in a row, because ain't nobody getting between me and the final F&W weekend!

I've always been an on the rocks margarita drinker. I just find them so much more flavorful than frozen.

Oooohhhh, spilled sangria, no good. I have a feeling that may happen to me in November. We're going to do HDDR, and well....you just don't want to give me all you can drink. Just saying. :lmao:

Thursday January 23, 2014

Today, both Mom and I woke up at 7am. Thankfully, she seemed to be feeling a whole lot better. Whew. So all of that resting up the day before that she did worked out for her. I was so happy. Our FP's and plan this day was for the Animal Kingdom.

First and foremost though, I turned into Mom for the moment and made sure she bundled up. I didn't want her getting cold at all, since she hadn't been feeling well. The weather still hadn't turned around and was cold.

I put on my lovely Beauty and the Beast pullover. Love this one.

Here is the back for all to see.

My makeup look today that I posted on Instagram was inspired by the Haunted Mansion.

We headed out to the car later to take it to the Animal Kingdom. When I got into the car, I sat there and told Pop not to move for the moment. I pulled into Indecision Station.

My reasoning was that Mom had been sick. And her favorite attraction at the Animal Kingdom was Expedition Everest. Which happens to be outdoors, and it was cold that day. I said that I thought maybe not to go to the Animal Kingdom, but somewhere else. I asked them what they thought.

Mom agreed with my assessment with the outdoor component, so we agreed not to go to AK. She suggested going to DHS instead, because we were planning on Epcot the next day since she had missed out on a lot.

The only point that came up was breakfast. Where were we going to go? Pop suggested getting out of the car and going to Artist Palette. So we made it all the way to the car...to get out and go to Artist Palette. Hahaha. That's definitely not like us.

We headed back into Artist Palette and ordered our breakfast.

Mom got an omelette.

Pop got his same old same old bounty platter.

I got kids waffles. Mmmmmm.

While we ate, I made all of the changes to our FP+ reservations, which is TOTALLY my favorite thing about FP+ and MDE. Everything was taken care of and we were good to go. I even scored a TSM FP.

After breakfast, we drove to DHS, which actually wasn't that crowded. And SCORE...we actually got a good parking space. Nice. My curse was broken! At least at that moment in time, I wanted to think it was.

Yay DHS!

So we start walking into the park, and Pop comments on how it's colder than he expected. Really Pop? Really? You know how cold it's been! I think I need to take to mothering him the way I mothered Mom that morning. Do other men seem to do this? Because the men in my family TOTALLY do!

Mom suggests finding a windbreaker. However, we call Pop a snob. No totally, he really is. He's super picky about clothing and the like, so we say he's totally stuck up. Having to suggest he find a windbreaker on Disney property is dicey. He loves his Disney polos (now, they are tech polos, you know golf ones. He doesn't wear cotton ones...see....snob!), but outerwear. Not so much.

Thankfully we found one in the first store we went in. Woooo. Dodged a bullet there. He said it would come in handy for golf. Sold!

We took some PP pictures afterwards, so you can see the snob wearing the new windbreaker that passed his inspection.

After we took our PP pictures, we went to the first major attraction of the day. Our FP+ attraction that everyone was totally waiting for.

Hot ticket man! Hahaha. I totally made our FP's trying to keep Mom indoors as much as possible.

I really do enjoy this attraction. We don't do it every time we visit WDW, but I enjoy it. This time around, we actually got a really good Ariel. She had a good voice, which makes the show exponentially better. Plus it makes up for mute creepy Eric. :scared:

Hehehe. This one cracks me up because Sebastian is all like "WHUT UP!!!!" in Flounders face, with crazy eyes.

Oh Ursula, you witch.

Creepy mute Eric!

The only issue I have with this show is the disjointed story telling. But meh. You get the gist. I'll watch it anyway.

Up next: I am totally out of practice drawing!

Thursday, Jan 23rd was the day that we arrived, and it was cold. I think it was something like a high of 55 degrees that day. But the sun was shining and it felt great.

I love the way you can change fp+'s at the last minute, too. That was really lucky to get TSMM.

We've only seen that Little Mermaid show once, and I agree, it was very disjointed.

awesome update!!

good thinking on the being inside! ee is great and all but on a cold day, BOOOOUUUURRRRRRRR is it rough! lol

ahahahaha get all the way to the car just to go back! hey man, somewhat happened last week, we went to mk to find peter, wandered in a circle for an hour, couldn't find him and left mk bahah! #fail

yay for dhs! i do have to agree that i'm pretty picky when it comes to clothes in disney, i usually wont buy anything, but the past few trips ive bought a sweater cause it was too cold, and last week had to buy a tank top cause i was dying of heat at 9am…. :headache:

yay for votlm being good this go around!!

Bad: I just found this TR. Sad I had missed it thus far.
Good: I just read the whole thing and took notes so I could comment.
Bad: I cleaned my desk off in a fit of pique and accidentally threw away the sticky note with said comments.

So - all you get is the following:

1. I adore your family.
2. I'm so sorry your mom was feeling cruddy. I've totally been there, and it is AWFUL!
3. I am loving all the pullovers and the makeup!
4. I had so much else to say. Meh.

Oh so glad mom was feeling better this day.

Hmmmm... so on your shirt, the prince has pants on, yet on the GIANT MURAL at BoG, he goes pants-less. Makes sense... :scared:

FP+ is really starting to show some real benefits I think. Getting a TSMM day of is pretty impressive.

Haha, I totaly have that jacket Popadon bought. Except I went for the Orange. I love it!!!

I agree. The VotLM is made or broken by Ariel's voice. It's a strange show though. Kind of the reader's digest version of the story. But I guess it has to be to be able to move more people through in a day.

I love that pullover, its so pretty! Those Mickey waffles look good. Looking forward to hearing about the rest of your day

It's so strange thinking of WDW being cold but good call on changing your plans to keep your Mom warmer :)

I've never seen the Little Mermaid show. Dunno if I ever will.

I love your Beauty and the Beast sweatshirt!

I love your Haunted Mansion eyes! I have no make-up talent and I would end up looking like a haunted raccoon than the haunted mansion!

Yay for mom feeling better! EE would have been tough on a recovering throat. VoTLM is a nice indoors attraction. Little dated though. Fix up those clips! I never thought of Eric as mute in the show....now I will have to see it again!:rotfl:
