That Foo's Boo Is Incredible!!! - Jan 14 TR *THE END 7/19 Pg. 51*

I bet from now on you won't leave the DD drive-thru without checking your bag, right? It's SO frustrating to get the wrong food, especially when you're too far away to go back to fix it!!

Your mom did bring an awesome amount of food, the only item that sounds a bit excessive is the amount of hard-boiled eggs? Although, if you're making egg salad with them, I guess I can see why.

It never fails that the days leading up to a trip are stressful, much as you'd like to try otherwise, I think it's just life's little way of reminding you why you're going in the first place? You guys made it to Nashville the first day, though, so that's progress considering you were at work until 2:30!

Your poor dad--does he know you've outed him here?:rotfl:

Following along!!

Sitting at work silently laughing.

Thanks for making my gloomy day better:hug:

OMG I need the Gilmore Girls DVDs hehe I loved that show too. And like Lorelai I need a coffee IV.

Men lol Yep I've been around some farts too lol Let's just say they were all from men ;) wink wink lol

Hi! Subbing! Still following your previous report and happy to join this one. Your family cracks me up. :) That fart story is hilarious!! That's a good wife that knows her hubbies farts so well to notice a difference. We are in NC and we drive every time we go to Disney so I know all about bringing plenty of food. DH bought the food this last time so I just hopped in the car. Great start to your report

ok, so I laughed out loud like at least twice so I think that constitute a good update (note: still laughing about the concept of a "normal sleep fart")

I miss Gilmore Girls too ... also Bunheads, which was like Gilmore Girls with a bit more pressure, and for some reason only lasted one season

and for those of you keeping score at home (and who isn't?) I was way off on what the thread title was referring too

Good! Then it means I'm doing my job properly. :rotfl:

OMG, I loved Bunheads too! I was so sad when it was over. I love Sutton Foster, so when it started I was super excited. It was a travesty when it was cancelled.

Now way! I love wordy updates!! :goodvibes

Sounds like an awful week, but the best part to come out of is the sweetness of knowing you are going to Disney!

I bet it made you appreciate your trip all that much more. :lovestruc

Oh, and I was right about what foo's boo was. I thought it had to be that more than anything else that was coming up for me.

And I agree with pposter, Gilmore Girls rocked and so did Bunheads. I hate that it only lasted two seasons. :confused3
The writing was well done, not as good as GMG, but still good. Hopefully they will come up with something else to write together. :thumbsup2

I just kept typing and typing and typing, and it kept on coming out. :rotfl2:

It was a terrible week, only made better by the fact that I was leaving for Disney. I was on edge for a while, because I really wanted to leave at 2:30pm on Friday, but when the issues happened, I was afraid I wasn't going to make it out. Thankfully, everything worked out in the end.

I hate that it only lasted 2 season too! Bunheads was great. I think it was on the wrong network honestly.

At least going to Disney makes up for a stressful week!

Yes to the friends gif! one of the All-time best TV shows!

and HAHAHAHAHAHAHA The fart joke was hilarious :lmao:

Friends is incredible. One of my all time favorites shows.

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

:worship::worship::worship:

:lmao::lmao::lmao:

You are off to a great start.

I need a map. I want to figure out how you got to Nashville so quick. Excuse me while I go check my US geography.

Didn't you know that EVERY KFC on the road is SUPER SLOW. Especially the ones that are combined with another FF joint like Taco Bell. Just SO SLOW. :faint:

So, yeah, thanks for sharing the fart story! :rolleyes1

Hahahaha, thanks Mary Ellen!

It's simple! When it comes to Disney, my Dad drives fast! We didn't make it quite as far as he wanted to. He really wanted to make it to Chatanooga, but we can't have everything we want.

See! That's why I had no idea it would take so long, because I literally never eat at KFC!

Anytime! We like to keep it classy over here. ;)

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 for both Gilmore Girls and Bunheads! I tried watching Parenthood just for Lauren Graham, but couldn't get into it.

:rotfl2: about the sleep fart.

I do enjoy Parenthood, but it's not the same kind of show as Gilmore Girls. That show was just amazing.

Never fails, right before a vacation things get crazy hectic. :sad2: Least it didn't prevent you from leaving on time...

Ew, onions and blueberry cream cheese? That sounds awful. You have to wonder if the Dunkin Donut's worker thought about what a strange combo that was when they were preparing the order. I think if it was me, I would've doubled checked, because I don't know a soul who would think that would taste appealing.

Right!? That's how everything always goes. I was grateful that I was able to leave on time though. Because then I would have been mad.

I know, it was disgusting. And I'm sure the person thought we were insane for ordering it. But to your point, like, clarify!

This is why I love your tr's so much, even an update with like, 2 pictures is hilarious and perfect!

Crappy that your week prior to disney was so crappy!! AND WHY DOES DUNKIN EVEN HAVE ONION BAGELS?!? TIM's totally doesn't have those, they've got the regular and delicious ones! Lol. eeewwwww

Again, letting yeti drive seems a little sketchy to me, bahaha!

Hilarity at it's best, I wouldn't have been able to fall asleep again after that either, especially if I knew we were on our way to Disney!

Excited for more!!

Awwww, thanks luv! I try to keep it entertaining, but at the same time I'm pretty much just writing how I am. So it gives people an idea of what I would be like if they met me in person! :rotfl2:

In defense of Dunkin, I love the fact that they have a large bagel flavor variety. And under more normal circumstances, I actually have no problem with an onion bagel. With REGULAR cream cheese. This was just a freak of nature.

It was sketchy letting him drive, but we went with it.

OH, btw....Popadon is coming on the November trip! We weren't sure at first, but he'll be there.

Look out. LOL.

Oh Yeah... I also don't step on cracks AND start stairs with my right foot. You can't be too careful.

"THAT TASTES LIKE FEET!!!" :rotfl: OMG I remember that like it was yesterday. But I REALLY enjoy the outtakes of that scene. TOO FUNNY!!

Trust me, I would never eat an onion bagel EVER.

While it sucks that your week well, sucked, doesn't that make leaving for Disney all that much better?? I know it would for me!!

Good God the hilarity that is your family. :rotfl2:

Seriously! You can't be too careful with that stuff. Glad someone else is on the same page as I am. :rotfl:

I say that all the time. David Schwimmer's delivery of that line was just perfection. I also often use: It's a moo point. You know...like a cow.....it's moo.

You can't take us anywhere. Honestly.

Yay! I guessed right! Lol Foo's Boo. I'm picturing Mr. T. "I pity the Foo's boo!" If I weren't on my iPad I'd totally find you a gif of that.
I think it's like a thing... You can't just ease into vacation. You have to really, really want it! You have to need it! You have to be scrambling to get the work done on time for it!
Onion bagel with blueberry cream cheese. Oh dear lord! That's just yucky!
Sounds like you guys had a good first day of travel! I had a good chuckle about the normal sleep fart. Now I'm going to have to ponder that for the rest of the day... What is normal?

Sent from my iPad using DISBoards

Yay for guessing right! I pity the foo's boo! That's awesome.

It's disgusting isn't it? Literally one of the nastiest things I've ever eaten.

Normal sleep farts are more like:

Pfffffffffftttttt.

Abnormal sleep farts:

Pppppppoooooooootttt.

See? :rotfl2:

Ewww an onion bagel with jam - yuck!!

And OMG too funny about the fart, what's even funnier though is your Mom knows what his different farts sound like :rotfl2:

I know, it was gross. And I wrote about it immediately in my journal so I remembered.

My Mom is good like that. She knows a lot about people in the family. Their favorite foods, how they sleep, how they fart. You know. The basics! :lmao:

OMG!!! Your fart story cracked me up!!! :rotfl2:

Then I did my job! ;)

Your poor dad--does he know you've outed him here?:rotfl:

Okay, for real, I won't. I don't trust them anymore! And they're my normal DD. So reliable under other circumstances.

I asked her the same question about the hard boiled eggs! They're one of my Dad's favorite snacks, but I was like "really?! 24? Why?!"

My Dad is completely aware that I share many gory details about him here. Listen, he thinks he's DIS famous, so he's down as long as it makes him more famous. Notorious even. :rotfl:

Following along!!

Sitting at work silently laughing.

Thanks for making my gloomy day better:hug:

:welcome: I'm glad you're here!

Anytime! I try to bring laughter and stupid stories into everyone's life. We all need it!

Thankfully you didn't snort your coffee out of your mouth or nose when you read that. I think I did that to MEK once......;)

OMG I need the Gilmore Girls DVDs hehe I loved that show too. And like Lorelai I need a coffee IV.

Men lol Yep I've been around some farts too lol Let's just say they were all from men ;) wink wink lol

Lorelei was the best character! I love her so much.

Hahahaha!

Glad you're here!

We just keep it real. This is what we're really like. We crack ourselves up endlessly over the stupid stuff. And that's okay!

Mom knows many things. She amazes me all the time.

I obviously knew what your title was referencing as soon as I read it... but YIKES. That is disgusting. I can't even imagine.

:lmao: I just laughed out loud at your poot story. Funniest thing I've heard all day.

Yay! I'm glad I could share some funny!

That explains so much - excessive eating of hard boiled eggs can lead to sleep farts! :scared:

Hahahahaha! I'm going to have to remember that......

Oh em gee you crack me up! That fart story totally could have been my Dad. I love that you guys have so much fun together. So no joke, I had a co-worker that would eat a blueberry bagel with the veggie cream cheese. I never understood it and would be so grossed out watching her! Love me some Dunks..but not that!

HAHA, maybe the different poot (hubs and I call 'em "toots"!) was because he had one of the 24 hard boiled eggs your mom packed? My mom used to hard boil the eggs when we left the timeshare in Florida to drive home, and I'd be sleeping when out of nowhere, I would awaken from the smell of egg in the car. Not pleasant!

:lmao: I'm currently sitting on my own laughing out loud at the poot story - thank you.

Really enjoying your lack of inhibitions - my sort of report ;)

Hahaha! I'm so glad I can inject humor into people's lives. We do have a lot of fun together. I think it adds a component to trips that makes it very interesting.

I can deal with the veggie cream cheese with the blueberry bagel a little more. Still icky, but it ain't onion! :rotfl2:

I am going to attribute it to the 24 hard boiled eggs. Seriously, who needs 24 hard boiled eggs for one week? :lmao: Ewwww, egg smell in the car! :rotfl:

:welcome: I'm glad you're here! I really have no shame sharing pretty much anything. I'n an open book.

I'm here and cracking up already! :rotfl2:

Yay, glad you're here!

Day 2 - Saturday January 18th, 2014

"Yes I Color!!!! Don't Ask How Old I Am......

Okay, let's go way back and remember that the great poot interruption (I come up with names for everything) occurred at 5am.

I couldn't go back to sleep, because I just kept on laughing and laughing to myself in bed. And you know how something continues to play over and over again in your head? That was the state I was in. Start to doze....recall the ppppoooooootttt....start giggling again.

This went on until I had to get up at 6am. However, I rejoiced in the fact that I was the lucky passenger in the back seat, and I could do whatever I wanted. That translates to sleeping. And sleeping.

My brother Jason used to tell me that he hated taking road trips with me back in the day, because I literally slept the entire time. I'm not exaggerating though. I stay awake like 30 minutes, and the car just lulls me to sleep. I don't know what it is. And don't worry everyone, I do NOT do that when I drive. Just in the back seat. It's like a lullaby....

This is the equivalent of what I look like sleeping in the back of the car btw.

While everyone else was getting ready, I made it my mission to find out if there was a Dunkin' Donuts in the area for us to pull through on the way out (I told you I was obsessed. I get this from my Dad). There was one 6 miles down the road, so we figured we would head there.

We got out of the hotel by about 7:15am and started heading to DD. HOWEVER.....on the way we saw a Chick-fil-a. My Dad has never eaten there. We only recently got one in our general area in Chicagoland. I told him the breakfast is super yummy, so he suggested we go there and them pull through the Starbucks that was right next door. I'm down with that.

Mmmmm. It's so good. Like, the sausage egg and cheese biscuit I got was like the best one I've ever had. We were all very happy with our decision to pull through there. I didn't take more pictures, because it was messy and a little difficult in the back of the car. But man. I want some right now!

We also stopped to get some gas. This was the only time we'd stopped for gas so far. We made it just over 600 miles. Got to love the Turbo Diesel Passat and it's gas consumption.

Cost of travel so far:

$100 for hotel stay
$60 for gas

$160. Not bad if I say so myself.

We were on our way again! Disney, here we come. Yeti wanted a froth row seat.

And then......I fell asleep! Exciting! My Mom did much more effective things, like knitting. She's been on this mission to knit scarves for all her co-workers. I think on the road trip alone she got like 4 done.

I woke up eventually and we were in a mountainous region.

I was bored, clearly.

So I busted out an activity. YES, I am I'm-not-going-to-tell-you-how old. But this is a great way to spend time in a car for long periods of time. Plus, I love new crayons. Who doesn't love a new box of crayons?! CRAZY PEOPLE, that's who!

My masterpiece. I got talent yo.

After coloring, I busted out my new Disney trivia book. It's pretty cool. A compilation of questions Dave Smith had answered for Disney Magazine way back in the day. It's a fun read for any Disney fan.

At some point, it was lunch time. No need to stop, I had all of the food in the back of the car! Surprised it could fit next to me with the quantity we brought, but it worked out.

Peanut butter sandwich and carrots! Better than pulling through fast food again though.

Inevitably, we got into Georgia and hit a wall of traffic. I've actually never made it through Georgia without hitting a wall of traffic. I think it's cursed.

I busted out my book. It's Allegiant, but Veronica Roth, the final of the Divergent trilogy.

Mom was still knitting. This basically remains the same for the whole trip.

We made it to the Florida border right before 5pm. I know this, because we went to the welcome center and made it inside literally right before they were closing up. So we got free orange juice, yay!

Gotta love the Popadon! I think though that this man staring at you through the welcome to Florida billboard might actually unwelcome you to Florida. And cause you to go running the other direction.

I picked up some reading material to keep me entertained.

Ooohhh, bright. Sorry about that. I couldn't tell with all of the SUN SHINING IN MY EYES!

I decided to color again.

Eventually, we were in the Orlando area! Yeti was super excited. It felt like we had been on the road forever.

I am not going to show you the picture I got of the entry sign to Disney. Because it's pathetic and horrible. I couldn't get a good shot from where I was in the back seat. Oh well. We were in Disney and at that point, I was like, that's okay!
