Thanksgiving WL Chances: Advice?

Hi...we're newbies (and excited to be) at this DVC stuff...just bought our m'ship (at SSR) last month...we've made two reservations so far...one for T-giving '06, only we couldn't get the Wed-Thurs of T-Giving week ...we're on the WL for that. The second is for Jan '07, and we're WL'ed for one night (a Sunday) in early Jan (1/7 as I recall)...

So, the question for you experienced folks: what are our chances of getting off the WLs, especially for the Wed before T-giving and T-giving itself (we're not picky at all about which resort; any of the five will be fine...we did ask for a Studio...but I'd be willing to call back to say we'd take a one bedroom (or even a 2 bedroom for that matter) for those two nights...should I do that?

We got our last days in a one bedrrom exactly at 7 months. I'd say your chances were zilch for VWL at Thanksgiving.

Try waitlisting but keep all your current ressies so you know you still have a place to stay. You never know, the waitlist may come through. And you may have a better chance of getting a 1 or 2 bed than a studio. Studios tend to book faster than the others simply because of lower pts. At any rate, Good luck and Pixie Dust to you! Thanks for the input (and pixie dust!)...we'll give the WL some time; if worst comes to worst, we can just "revert" to non DVC-member status and rent a hotel room at another WDW resort for those 2 nights...

Being part of DVC is taking some getting used to! The MS folks have been really nice and helpful, but I am really surprised at how different booking time at WDW is now that we're doing it thru DVC instead of "normal" booking...I'm sure using DVC will become easy as I do it a few times and get used to it...but it's sure different from what I'm used to!

I'd be making that "back up" reservation now. You can always cancel it if the waitlist comes through.
