Sunday, November 21

We took our time gettinga round in the morning. It was a great break after the trip down and then the full day we had at MK on Saturday. We attended a 10am service at a United Methodist Church that was located somewhere just off the toll road that goes to the airport. It was a much needed break in our scehdule to get around later, get offsite for a bit, worship, and take our time getting back to the parks. We had lunch at a Uno restaurant on 192 that was practically deserted. Our family loves UNO pizza (yummy).

First park of the day was Animal Kingdom. I try to like this park. I really, really try. It was cool seeing the construction on ExEv as we rode in on the bus. There were lots of characters greeting in the area just outside the gate. One new one we saw was a tall duck wearing an aviator costume. I know I've seen him on some Disney Channel show.
We went straight for the Tree of Life and did ITTBAB. There was no wait :D . This was the first time DD had done it; she didn't like it too well. It's a funny thing about kids... DD7 was terrified in ITTBAB, yet she loves Haunted Mansion and would ride it over and over again. On the other hand DS5 loves ITTBAB, but is scared to death of riding HM.
After that we went over to see about Kilimanjaro Safari. It was a 45 minute wait so we decided to skip it. We wandered over to Dino-land, picking up a few souvenirs along the way. DS5 is nuts about "The Incredibles" so we he chose to use some of his Disney Dollars for a cool Incredibles light-up sword that made three different sounds. He loved playing with it for the rest ofthe vacation.
Once in Dino-land it sure did seem HOT (odd to feel that way in November). The kids dug around the Boneyard for a while. We thought about doing Triceratops Spin, but the wait was ridiculous. We never have ridden Dinosaur, but the wait was too long this time as well. Can yoe detect a trend here? We just refused to do lines longer than 30 minutes.
We stuck around for the parade since we never had seen it before. This was the first time we had been in AK after lunch. The sun was beating down on us, it was getting hot and I started feeling kind of puny. The parade was OK, but I don't think I would wait around for it again. Lots of nice character interaction for our kids. That was a plus.

One ice-cold Sprite later, and I was feeling great. We hopped over to MK. The kids liked taking the ferry over from the TTC. Still full from lunch, for supper we had some fruit and stuff from the stand over in Toontown. We rode the WDW railroad, and then stayed mostly in Frontierland and Liberty Square. We all loved the Country Bears Christmas show. DW thinks it's better than the regular one -which we all enjoy. DW and DD did HM while DS and I hunted for a Dash Incredible pin. We rode Splash Mountain twice and Pirates once (two of our very favorite rides). The crowds were realtively light and wait times were short enough. PotC was a walk-on. We made an early evening of it and headed back to the resort to rest and relax for the big day on Monday.

On a scale of 1-5 I give this day :earboy2: :earboy2: :earboy2: :earboy2:
