Thanksgiving - Live and Solo Day 3, November 26th

Who - Me, age 35
When - Wednesday Nov. 24th thru Monday Nov. 29th
Where - Coronado Springs
How - Solo (many Disney vacations under my belt, many solo vacations under my belt, but this is my first solo Disney trip)
Why - My usual traveling partner, my cousin AnnMarie, has the responsibilities of a family and couldn't travel over the holidays.

I set my alarm for 7:00 this morning, but "snoozed" until about 7:45. After my shower, I took the bus to El Centro and went to The Pepper Market for breakfast. I ran into a family from Canada that I've been seeing at the bus stops since day one and they insisted that I eat with them. I had a nice breakfast of bacon, eggs, homefries, a biscuit, a diet coke and hot chocolate ($13.00) and caught a bus to the Magic Kingdom.

The crowds outside the MK were unbelievable. I told myself that I was just going to go with the flow, and not get crazy backtracking across the park to save a few minutes in line here and there. I proceeded to Adventureland and had the surprise of my life -- there were no crowds!!

I walked right on to The Jungle Cruise - my skipper London was great. After that, I rode Pirates of the Caribbean twice - no wait at all. I grabbed a fastpass for BTMRR and then walked on to Splash Mountain. No wait at all. I went right back on and rode Splash again. I then walked right onto BTMRR (they had a 5 minute wait posted, but it wasn't even that long). I rode BTMRR again with my fastpass (but didn't really need it as the wait time was only 10 minutes).

The Haunted Mansion was my next stop - again no crowds to fight through on my way there. There was a ten minute wait posted, but it was really a walk-on.

I was really missing AnnMarie this morning. We have so many memories at the MK - like the time she lost her brand new baseball cap on the drop on Splash Mountain. Or the time we got stuck for about 20 minutes on the hill leading up to the big drop on Splash Mountain. Or our mutual disgust for giant turkey legs. I decided to sneak off into a quiet corner and call her. We chatted for a few minutes and I made my way to Fantasyland. I found the crowds!!!
The wait times were really long for every ride - so I just grabbed a fastpass for Mickey's Philharmagic and made my way to Tomorrowland. More crowds!!

Space Mountain had a standby time of 60 minutes and I couldn't get another fastpass yet, so I made my way to Carousel of Progress. I was so happy to find it open. I sang along and had a great time. Buzz had a 50 minute wait, so I proceeded to ride the TTA. I finally got to see the inside of Space Mountain with the lights on -- wow!! That's scary -- I'm going to be a little uneasy the next time I have to ride it. After the TTA, I passed by Space Mountain to see the wait time. It was now up to 90 minutes. I guess the temporary shut-down got it very backed up.

I decided to check out the lines for the new Stitch ride. It was now 12:00 and the fastpass return was 7:05 to 8:05. I'll wait until next year. I grabbed a quick bite to eat at the Plaza Pavilion (individual pepperoni pizza and a diet coke - $8.00) and headed back to Mickey's Philharmagic. I waited about 10 minutes for the next show to start - this show never ceases to amaze me. It was great!! I was starting to get a little tired (and the crowds were now unbearable) so I decided to leave, but not before getting a pineapple/vanilla swirl Dole Whip!!

Back at the Coronado Springs, I called AnnMarie again and then took a quick shower. My plan was to go to MGM for a few hours and then catch the 8:00 Candlelight Processional.

At MGM, I went straight to Who Want's To Be A Millionaire - Play It! The Hot Seat eluded me once again, but this time I got as high as number 2 in the Top Ten. After that, I saw One Man's Dream again and then went back to WWTBAM-PI. When the show ended, they put the Top Ten up and I was number one. Oh well, maybe tomorrow.

I headed towards Tower of Terror - the wait time was 60 minutes, so I decided to pass.

It was about 7:00 now, and I was exhausted and hungry. I decided to pass on Epcot and made my way back to the hotel. At the Pepper Market I got a steak quesadilla, diet coke and a muffin ($21.00). It was about 8'ish by now and I thought about going to the Magic Kingdom for a few hours (it is open until Midnight), but decided against it. So here I am, typing up my trip report and dreaming about a good night's sleep!!

Miscellaneous thoughts and ramblings:

I love people who don't think that the rules apply to them. {sarcasm} At Mickey's Philharmagic, a family just plops themselves down in the middle of a row. Even when a Cast Member asked them to move, they refused and people had to climb over them. These are probably the same people who "sneak" onto the bus through the rear entrance even though "no entry" is clearly posted.

Where has my money gone?? I really haven't purchased that much, but yet my money is dwindling down quickly.

I forgot to mention that I bought the cutest thing yesterday in Japan - Hello Kitty and her boyfriend Dear Daniel dressed up as Beauty and the Beast!!

I don't like that I don't have control over the air-conditioning in my room. You can only adjust it about 5 degrees and it shuts off when you leave the room. I understand why, but I don't like having to wait 10 - 15 minutes for it to kick back in once I return.

My plan for tomorrow: MGM in the morning and Epcot in the evening.

As always, your questions/comments are welcome.

Another great report. I missed it yesterday because the boards were down. Thanks for such a quick reply to my questions on your first day. :D

Isn't it great how this always happens? At the end of my vacations, I can never quite account for moneys spent.

Another great report! Hope you have a good day tomorrow!

Sorry I'm just checking these out now when you are flying home today.

I so appreciated the calls, it made me feel like I was there with you.

Sounds like a great day and I can't wait to hear more when you get home.
