Thanksgiving HELP!!!!!!!!

Ok, we decided last minute, if you call this last minute to go to Disney for Thanksgiving. Just got off the phone with member services and needless to say not good news. Wed and Thurs nothing (not even cash) and Friday and Sat VWL and OKW available. We were hoping for Boardwalk Std. Studio. What do you think our chances are if we waitlist each day for the Boardwalk and also the Wed. and Thurs for either VWL or OKW?

IMHO, no chance for a standard view studio at BWV. Those book up at the 11 month mark and there is most likely already a lengthy waitlist for them. You might have a shot at a preferred view studio. No idea what to say about VWL or OKW. (This is just my opinion, so I could be wrong. You just won't know for sure until you get what you want or your date passes).

Good luck - hope something works out for you (but make a back up plan somewhere, just in case. Thanksgiving is a fun time to visit)!

The waitlist will probably come through w/ something....but the BWV standard is a long shot. We got a 1br at VWL for Thanksgiving 2002 on short notice....so getting a room isn't impossible.

go with what you got - I would pick VWL - just because it will be beautiful.....

then for the days that you don't have - would you consider Pop Century.....

or you could use points at any of the WDW resorts - this is the last time that Thanksgiving is in the value reason - next year for the WDW resorts it will be in regular season.

Wow, what a difference just a couple of days makes! We called MS last week and got four days 1 BR at VWL, and we're waitlisted for Thanksgiving Day itself. We really wanted VWL just for the atmosphere, altho we'd have been content anywhere.

I think I mentioned elsewhere that the CM I talked to was VERY encouraging about the waitlist - he said that there's a flurry of cancellations at the 30 day mark.

So, here's some pixie dust coming your way (but you'll understand if I sprinkle a little on myself first!)

I would take VWL/OKW for Fri/Sat. Do a tentative booking at any hotel you can find, perhaps Dolphin/Swan (even off site) for Wed/Thurs (as long as they have a no penality cancellation plan). Then hope for the best at the 30 day mark, and hopefully you'll be cancelling the offsite booking, leaving plenty of time for them to re-rent. Waitlist BWV, and if it does open you will be lucky, but you might have to move. sending lots of pixie dust.

Worst comes to worst...buy a tent

Ok here's what we did. Called back and took OKW studio for Fri and Sat. Waitlisted for Thurs. CM said that Boardwalk Studio was available for the Sat, but not Thurs or Fri. So we waitlisted the whole 3 days for Boardwalk. I know it probably won't happen, but CM said since one day was available that we would have to waitlist the whole thing or take the one day at Boardwalk. I don't want to change locations each day so we waitlisted the whole thing at Boardwalk. We are going to book Pop Century for Wed and Thurs. AAA rate since there haven't had any AP rates for that time yet. and if OKW comes through for Thurs we will stay there and at Pop Century Wed night. We were always going to Pop Century on Wed. We drive and arrive late so it's not worth spending the points just to sleep there. So, Pop is $77 right now and we'll sleep there and then go to OKW Thurs.
