Hi all,

I am trying to do some planning for Thanksgiving Day at MK. We have 6:55 dinner reservations at Cinderella Castle but am trying to figure out the rest of the day. Can anyone tell me the what the crowds are like at MK that day as well as the surrounding days (at other parks as well)?

We are flying in on 11/25 and leaving 12/1 and just trying to figure out some plans and just how crowded it will be. We are going to the MMVMCP on 11/30?

Thanks all

Mimmiepnp

PS: going home to SSR for the first time in 41 days (not that I am counting)....................:cool1:

The parks will be crowded that day, not Christmas day crowded, but pretty close. I've been for the past few Thanksgivings and there have been years we've braved the parks on Thanksgiving day, and those we haven't. We've enjoyed the Thanksgivings we haven't much more. I'd suggest trying Disney Quest, that way you are still doing something high energy and entertaining, but you're not braving the crowds at Space Mountain. We did that one Thanksgiving day and had a blast!

Last year we stayed away from the Magic Kingdom on that day, but it was not bad the day before. We kept to Epcot on Thanksgiving Day because of the larger area. We actually did most of our park time that day in the morning. We had Thanksgiving dinner at Teppan Edo about noon, and we found the Epcot crowds large but manageable that day. Nothing at all like Christmas or New Years. We went early in the week and did most of oiur park hopping before the actual holiday. Once we got past Saturday, the crowds thinned down greatly.

You may want to get to the MK as early as possible on that day. If the park closes, you won't be able to enter even if you have an ADR for Cinderella's Table.

Deb, I don't think they closed the access to MK last year on Thanksgiving Day. I didn't hear about it anyway if they did.

we were there last year Thanksgiving week, it was very crowded everywhere we went. the parks never closed early due to the crowds though. animal kingdom was shoulder to shoulder crowded, we left early. good luck!

I agree about Animal Kingdom and Magic, but we thought most of Epcot was okay with the exception of Soarin'.

We go every thanksgiving and the park is swamped; the park is open till midnight and really opens up after 8 pm. Once again the popular rides are packed.

I'm doing my first DVC stay in thanksgiving too! :yay: It seems like I'll be passing up the parks that day though... does anybody know about the surrounding days?
