For 21 points per night we were able to book a Lake View Room at the Sagamore for three nights for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday nights of Thanksgiving week. The room goes for $299.00 per night plus 10% tax through the Sagamore. It makes the value of the points we are using for this stay $15.66 per point.

I know it doesn't mean a lot, but so often we hear about members who rent their points at $10.00 per point to pay cash for other vacations. Here is an example where it actually pays off to have Disney points and use them.

Love the flexability of our DVC!

I believe I paid 56 points per night to stay there in the summer. So you are getting a lot better buy than I did.

We spent a few nights at the Sagamore Thanksgiving 3 yrs ago. It was great. Very relaxing. We reheated our Turkey dinner in the fireplace in the room.(There was only a stove top.) Just ask in the restaurant for extra foil!!

we also eat outside of the property. We walked up to the main road over the bridge and there was a little pub/restaurant on the left. very affordable, kid friendly and good food.
Enjoy!!

We have been thinking of staying there - I would love to hear any thoughts on the place - we have 2 kids 7 & 6 and wonder how they would like it. Can't wait to hear a trip report

We have a boat on Lake George and see the Sagamore every weekend. I have been there for meetings, etc. but never to stay! However, it is an absolutely beautiful resort. And the water at Lake George is clean and clear. Every time I see it I think of the DVC tape and the aerial shot. I'd love to read trip reports!

nezy:

We were actually there 3 years ago for Thanksgiving too. I think that was the year that our two youngest children were chosen to light the Christmas tree. For about three years in a row we went to the Sagamore for Thanksgiving but skipped it last year. This is the first year we are using points for a stay.

Hi Yasuern,

We're going for Columbus Day weekend with our two kids 4, 7. I'd be happy to give you a trip report when we return.

I had afternoon tea there yesterday. It certainly rivals the tea at the GF! The views are beautiful.

My DH and I were just discussing this resort yesterday and we might want to try it this summer, possibly July or August. I'm really interested in activities at the resort for my to be 6 yo DD. Any info would be helpful. Thanks.

IMHO, the Sagamore is both adult and kid frendly. The wife and I spent a long weekend there last fall. The scenery and resort were both top notch. Check out the web site www.thesagamore.com. There is an indoor pool and spa (for the older kids) and in the summer there is some sort of a kids club, activities, a mini golf course and regular golf (again for the older kids). For attractions there is Lake George, the village, Bolton Landing, lots of outlets for shopping, skiing, the Great Escape (seasonal) and the Adirondacks.
Top shelf spot.

I stayed at the Sagamore for New Years 98 into 99. It was great. The New Years Party was wonderful, the food very good. The rooms overlooking the lake were large and very pretty, and they deliver the wood for your fires. It was cold though. When we arrived, the lake was liquid, but by the time we left, it was frozen solid! Anita.
