Hi, everyone!
Thanksgiving at HH is so beautiful. Last year was pretty chilly, so we were walking around in sweatshirts and shorts, jeans for the evenings. There were lots of fun activities that weekend, including a touch football game on the beach on Thanksgiving morning. I got up, fixed the turkey and stuffing and put it in the oven. We drove over to the Beachhouse, though you could also bike or use the shuttle. After walking on the beach for a while, taking pix of sand dollars and the beautiful views, a bunch of us just sat down on a blanket we'd brought and watched as two touch football games were played between us and the water. Everyone seemed to be having a great time, from the adults to the youngest. We were supposed to be cheerleading, but had such a great time gabbing about life, the wonders of
DVC and the miracle of being somewhere so special. There were also campfires that weekend (w/songs and games and smores) and kids' night out, and kayaking, and island tours and fish painting. I cannot begin to tell you how peaceful and relaxing and full of wonder that trip was. I would bet my DD15 and DS10 have asked no less than 50x when we are going back. They loved riding their bikes all over the island, fishing, swimming, and (DD14) hanging out at Big Murgie's with the other teens.
Oh, yeah, forgot to mention, the smell of the turkeys frying near the pool at the resort was absolutely mouth-watering. But the smell of the turkey cooking in our villa when we got back from the Turkey Bowl, and the satisfaction and pleasure of having cooked in such pleasant circumstances was also wonderful!
