Thanksgiving 2007!!!

Yay,:yay: Nov 1st. I can't believe in nearly 2 weeks we'll be going on our first cruise. I've had the suitcases in the garage for nearly a month now they're coming inside. I'm ready to start packing!!! I don't care that you won't be able to walk through my dining room. With 4 people , you can take 2 suitcases, and 1 carry on each. That's 12 pieces of luggage. I hope I don't need that much!!!:scared1:

Melinda:

Remember to take out about 50% of the items you pack... You can only get so many suitcases under your bed.... We usually bring one suitcase with FE items and water... Then we have plenty of room to bring items home from Shopping !!! One items that is always good to bring in November.... A light jacket for sweatshirt for evenings..

How in the world are we going to have a late dinner and eat a midnight buffet? My goodness!! Will we be able to manage somehow?:wizard:
Melinda

I'm listening to my ipod at work and the music from the Castaway Club CD just came up in the shuffle!! :cool1:

We plan on being at the port around 9. :thumbsup2

It's November - our cruise month!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cloud9:

Does anyone use the Disney Rewards Visa? We have this card and were told that during November/December that DCL will be offering special deals if you book onboard and pay with this card. Part of the deal include NO interest for 6 months to pay for a Disney Vacation and an onboard credit...

We are thinking about booking again for next year, while on board...

We have never used the rewards, so any information you have would be helpful.

Wendy

What I like about using the card is that you can take 6 months to pay off the deposit, and then we put more payments on the card during the year and you get six months to pay off each of the payments also. It really helps us spread out the payments without incurring any interest.

Unless they've made a change, they won't let you combine the $200 OBC from rebooking with the $50 OBC you would get from booking a cruise with your Disney Visa.

This cruise, we have a $200 OBC credit from rebooking, a $75 OBC from Dreams Unlimited, and a $25 OBC from DU booking our cruise through Disney's website. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

PLUS I have about $150 on my Disney rewards card from booking all three of our rooms on my Visa, and another $150 in Disney gift cards from Sunshine Rewards. Woo hoooo!!!!!!!!

Is it wise to pack a pair of jeans for the girls? Or is it too warm?
Melinda

Melinda:

I usually take a Jogging outfit and a pair of jeans for my DD... She has said she has gotten chilly in the Lab and in Theater.... We will have a better idea of the weather in a week or so, but it can get chilly....

Aha...finally found this on another thread!

What movies will be playing on our voyage?
You can call 888-325-2500, choose the reservations option, then ask what movies will be showing the week you cruise.

So...we can find out what will be playing!

Karen

Actually the "midnight buffet" is different from pirate night buffet, although it does tend to start a bit before midnight and is in Lumiere's w/ice sculptures and chocolate of all descriptions.

Chuck:cool1:

They now have a chocolate fountain too! Both milk chocolate and a white chocolate one with bananas, marshmellows and fruit.

YUMMY!

The Disney Premiere of Enchanted is while we are on our cruise, so we should be able to see it. My daughter said she is definitely going too. If it is a big enough premiere, it should be shown at 12:01 a.m. in the Walt Disney Theater!

Movies:

Will the movie "THE GAME PLAN" be on during our cruise.... It has been on in the theaters for several weeks.... We saw it and LOVED it... Hope they had it on.

Wendy

Yes, it was. There was a movie that premiered at sea that Disney released while were we on the ship. I never did go to any movies, and I can't remember if it was this one, or if it was something with the word "Dan" in the title, but it premiered in the Walt Disney Theater at 12:01 a.m. on the day of the world premiere.

MINI NAVIGATOR UPDATE-INFORMATION NEEDED!

Okay, Turkey Cruisers! I worked on the lists with everyone last night for the mini navigators, and boy, we are just all over the place with the information and what we are doing! WOW. In the mini-navigator, in the past, I have NOT put the ages of the children in each stateroom, I have listed just names. Generally, our fellow disboarders know the ages of the children they are with before our cruise, and I don't like listing the ages, although I have always felt safe on a Disney Cruise.

What I generally list is the following:

DISBOARD NAME
STATEROOM NUMBER
FIRST NAMES ONLY OF CRUISERS IN EACH STATEROOM

and then I have a column for "Fish Extender" and if NEMO is in that column, that means they are participating in the fish extender exchange.

Based on how I put in the info, I only have that information from the following cruisers:
5infam
Marypoppinsiam
Mickeyhugger
Momof1+2
seaulater
Tinkerbell 99 mom

FOR THE REMAINING CRUISERS, (MOST OF WHOM ARE PARTICIPATING IN THE FISH EXTENDER EXCHANGE) I AM MISSING EITHER NAMES, STATEROOM NUMBERS OR A COMBINATION OF BOTH

So, I have cleared out my PM box. Please PM me the information requested above.

ONE MORE THING:

IF YOU ARE CELEBRATING A WEDDING, ANNIVERSARY, BIRTHDAY OR OTHER SPECIAL OCCASION:

Please PM me the first name of the cruiser in your group and the date, i.e. Susie-birthday November 18, and I will list it in the mini-navigator.

On one of our past cruises, someone in the group was willing to make a magnetic door sign and then secretly late at night before the day, they would go but the sign on the door to surprise them when they got up the next morning.

Anyway, that's my thoughts. I notice that almost everyone is participating in the fish extender exchange. That's great. It is so fun to do that.

Also, someone was asking what fish extenders looked like. There is a whole thread somewhere here on the board with the pictures, but I know that someone recently mentioned that a person by the name of rosa3011 was selling them on Ebay. I looked and she has them pretty cheap. I have the original lime green Mickey one. The gal on ebay calls them shoe holders I think. They are about 6 inches wide or so and maybe 20-24 inches long? I would have to measure mine for sure.

Anyway, just a heads up on what fish extenders are.

Also, a couple of months ago DCL requested that no tape be used on stateroom doors. They are really doing too much to enforce it, but have requested "magnet type" items only as the tape and stuff are ruining the doors and maintenance can't keep up with re-painting them.

Thanks everyone!
