Thanksgiving 2007!!!

Hi everyone!! Halloween is over and hopefully be put away today. Gale force winds last night but not much rain thank goodness. This storm needs to leave the coast of florida fast. I know it not going to hit Florida be we have had bad weather for 5 days now and the beaches have taken a pounding. Lynn
im sure the beaches are a mess not to mention the rain gets to be a bit much i lived in west palm beach for the 2 hurricanes in 2004 and let me tell you i was amazed, living up north all of my life a hurricane was a shocker not to mention its nothing like a snow storm, no power 110 degrees i flew back to ny but quick ever time there was talk of another one coming, after the baby was born and sitting in a house with no power with a baby less then a month old that is when i said ok i get the hint its time to go back up north lol

Our family has been doing some pre-planning.... It looks like next years Turkey Day Cruisers will get a double dip to Castaway Cay...

Is anyone thinking about this cruise for next year?

wendy

We are going to book it while on board but may switch it to Dec 27th. Gives us a year to figure out what we want to do.

How in the world are we going to have a late dinner and eat a midnight buffet? My goodness!! Will we be able to manage somehow?:wizard:
Melinda
ha ha ha Melinda come on now dont you remember there is always room for dessert lmao im going to gain 10 lbs from this trip i know it ha ha ha well i guess this is where the button extention things i read about come in handy ha ha ha

A few comments.

Disney dollars are great to use on the boat - our Visa card says member from Day 1.

As to getting to the port, I suggest no earlier than 930/945 or so. They make you wait across the street and any earlier is a problem b/c of passengers disembarking from the prior cruise. Offical opening is 10 a.m.

12 pieces of luggage is too much...you will spend most of the week in a couple pairs of shorts and T-shirts, other than for dinner, and I dont know of many men who will not re-wear the slacks or suit. - Besides, storage will become a major issue...also another good reason for soft-sided or collapsible luggage - it fits better under the bed.

As to the weather, I think i usually pack a pair of sweats, but i dont recall ever having actually put them on. I do occasionally wear a long sleeve T shirt or windbreaer on deck at night....with the weather, who really knows, but dont forget we will be in sub-tropics which stay pretty warm all year.

As to next year, we get the double dip back, but the ports are iffy - costa maya is not our favorite, to put it mildly, having been there in 2005 when cozumel was closed from hurricanes. That said, Costa Maya is itself pretty much destroyed and there remains a question as to whether it will be completely reopened by next year's trip

Yep, were in the same boat for Turkey Day '08. We've been to Costa Maya 2 other times...don't like it one little bit...but, it does give one a good day to spend on the boat!

The notion of double-dipping at Castaway Cay is appealing...and will likely be more so after we go there for the first time on this cruise! So, we're in that "hmmm...thinking about it stage."

12 pieces of luggage is DEFINITELY WAY TOO MUCH! I don't even know how you'd get all of that in a car and have room left for people! For the 3 of us, it's 1 large, 2 medium suitcases, DS backpack (he goes everywhere with it), a toiletry bag and a duffle with water (oh yeah, and "Goofy's" cpap). I don't take a formal gown...just a couple of nice dresses and the boys just bring kahkis, ties and their "stand-by" blue jackets."

Truly, and this is from the Queen of Overpacking, lay it all out and then eliminate 1/2...you won't miss the 1/2 you eliminate (unless you accidentally remove the pile with undies!)...yep...did that once!

Sending Seaulater a PM.

wooooooooooooo hooooooooooooo were more then 1/4 of the way to 3000 come on guys were soooooooooooooooooooo going to make 3000 and that is even if i have to post a daily wooo hooo there is so many days left ha ha i figured if im doing it here and emailing all my family what the heck i can add it here soooooooo with that woooooooooooo hoooooo there are only 15 days wooooooooooooooo hooooooooooooooooooooo ha ha ha

732 divided by 15 = about 48

Thus, needing only 48 posts per day, 3000 should be easy

see Chuck is thinking positive you go babyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy 3000 here we come one less one less like that commercial see i told you i need a nap my the mind is alredy napping its just the rest of me that has yet to figure that out ha ha

Hey Guys:

Just checked out a thread for the 11/24/2007 cruise.... I think Lampy is on that one now.... They have 11,674 posts.... WOW .... They started in May of 2006....

Yeah, but they post about every little thing over there. We're the much more "reserved" type here. We only post the important stuff!

Karen

Gina, if you forget the flashlight, I can let your mom borrow mine...I'm definitely bringing the darn thing with me this time. Walking around by iPod light is only for the truly desperate and is dangerous for your toes (especially when the light goes out)! :lmao:

I may be a "lurker here".....:rotfl2: Just checking in....yes, had to switch do to Alli having finals on the 16th.....I'm still a "turkey" at heart....LOL

By the way, each cabin does have its own individual temperature control. However, with that said, its not like a hotel where 1 room can be set to "sub-zero" while the other is set to be a "desert."

I think you have a more limited range of temperatures between rooms...or at least we did on RCCL (and thank goodness...I hate sleeping in those sub-zero temperatures Goofy enjoys. Sometimes I think the reason women have hot flashes is because their husbands have destroyed their ability to regulate temperatures :lmao:)!

As my mom recently pointed out to me, its really nice having hot flashes now that my dad is cold all the time...she gets to get even for having been frozen to death half her life! Ahhhh...justice! :rotfl2:

Ok...this is a question for the Turkeys...you folks are the bird experts.

I was driving in our national forest to work. A police cruiser was following close behind me. There was a wild turkey in the middle of the road and there was really no way for me to avoid it. I hit the dog-gone thing...it went over my hood, over the car and smacked dead center into the windshield of the cop car. He hit his siren and lights...stopped me and gave me a ticket for $150!!!!! Is this legal????? You guys know your turkeys, I'm sure.....please, PLEASE help out here......

nanahead mutt :pluto:

If he hadnt got out of the car and slipped on the darn banana peel you probably would have gottena away with it! :rotfl2:
