Thanksgiving 2007!!!

Hey Turkey Cruisers!

Remember us? We were on the Thanksgiving 2005 cruise - it seems so long ago.

I have a big favor to ask -- I lost my DCL zipup sweatshirt hoodie. I am so sad about this as it was my favorite souvenir.

If any of you might be able to pick up another one for me - assuming they still sell them onboard, I would be SO grateful.

I will pay in advance, of course, and also shipping costs, etc.

Please let me know if you would be willing. I wish someday we could cruise Disney again!

Thank you,
Kris

Hey Kris, ask and you shall recieve........the gift shop phone # for the Magic is 800-601-8455, call and see if they are still available, if they are ask if they can ship one, if not get the scew (sp?)# and call 800-951-3532 I think gift services is option #6. With your origional receipt or scew# from the gift shop they can ship you one from their warehouse.....I buy beach towels from them all the time......hope this helps!!! Lampy

SFeisen and Pixie Dust-

OK, this is gonna sound like a weird question. Do they serve a "traditional Thanksgiving dinner" on Thursday? I'm hoping that they also have something "untraditional" because I can't stand turkey! YUCK!

Yep, call me un-American, but if we're gonna call it "Thanksgiving" why not serve something to be truly thankful for...like LOBSTER! Now I can be thankful for lobster...but turkey...no thanks!

Yes, everyone in my family thinks I'm nuts. I like the trimmings (veggies and such) but the turkey...blech! I won't even eat the stuffing/dressing (depending on where you're from) that's been in the *^&@ bird (truly gross in my humble opinion).

So...any chance I can get food that I'll be "thankful" for that day...or will it be ice cream and pizza for me?

Sorry...and my apologies to all of you who actually enjoy turkey. I don't mind cooking the dumb bird...but I won't eat it!

Welcome SFeisen and Pixie Dust. :goodvibes This is also our first Disney cruise and actually our first cruise ever. It will be me, my DH, DD-12, and DD 9. We can't wait!!!:cool1: Have a great day! Melinda

Thanksgiving is also semi formal night. So, yes you can have lobster or any of the other choices on the menu for Thanksgiving. Lampy had once posted a picture of his thanksgiving dinner, I believe it was a lobster tail and prime rib. Enjoy...you are on vacation!!!!:cool1:

Welcome Pixie Dust and family.:)

Our family has also sailed RCCL and Carnival, but DCL is our ULTIMATE favorite!:cool1: I think your family will have a great time. The sailaway and deck parties are incredible!party: And Palo, pirate nightpirate: and the characters..I could go on forever about why DCL the best!

(Not that I'm excited or anything!:rotfl2:)
Oh, my DH also prefers the prime rib and lobster instead of turkey.

:goodvibes What a relief! I figured that there would be something besides turkey to eat that night...but lobster....:woohoo: !!! Now that's something to be thankful for!

By the way, we told our son last night about the cruise and he nearly passed out. We told him we were going on a cruise at Thanksgiving and asked him to guess which line...he went through everyone (including Windstar and Cunard)...then stuttered and said Dis----ney? When we busted out laughing I thought he was going to pass out from excitement!

Now, we're counting the days. He's already thinking about what we're going to do in each place and made us watch the Disney Cruiseline special that he Tivo'd a long time ago.

Thanks all -- oh...and if you have any good tips for this DCL newbie, don't hesitate to pass them along. Guess I gotta go buy the Passporter for Disney Cruises!

Karen

I'm not a huge fan of turkey, so I'm happy I'll be able to eat something else this year. :teeth:

I have an old edition of Passporter, and I'm thinking of purchasing the newer edition. It's such a great book.

Karen-

You will have a wonderful time on the Magic!! :thumbsup2

Our DS who will be 8 at the time of the cruise loves the Kids Programs. He also really enjoys the Mickey slide, the Ocean Quest computer room, seeing the characters, the pirate party and the amazing stage shows.

The best tip I can give is to relax and enjoy the vacation. Don't worry about having to do everything. This will be our 4th year in a row and we still have not done everything on the ship.

Thanks for the photo Lampy.

Hey, how is your daughter? (Since having the accident.)

Speaking of the holidays and all the trimmings, I also noticed in several of the pictures Christmas decorations.:santa: Were those taken during the Turkey Cruise, also? Everything looks so festive. If so, when do they have time to do that? Counting the days, :hourglass Melinda

OK, no fair posting a picture like that when I'm sitting here at working getting ready to enjoy a fabulous cup of yogurt for lunch :rolleyes1!

As far as not being able to do everything...I'm not at all worried. We've been to WDW many times and still haven't done everything there either! (Besides if I try to do a commando cruise where we do everything then I won't have an excuse to come back...just don't tell the hubby though! :thumbsup2

Yes, the pictures were taken during the Turkey cruise. At the beginning of the week, the ship is only slightly decorated. But, by the end of the week, you will feel as though you are in a winter wonderland!! :thumbsup2
