Chuck, We are hoping to hear good news about Lisa's dad.

Thanks for asking. My dad is out of intensive care. He is now in the telemetry unit. He is off the ventillator and breathing on his own w/ the help of an oxygen mask. According to his doctors, it's a miracle that he is alive. One dr. said he must be like a cat...w/ 9 lives. On monday, they want to do the valve replacement to get his heart beating properly again. Then, if all goes well, they want him to go to a rehab facility for a while for recovery. He still cannot walk farther than right outside his hospital room--w/ the help of a walker. However, his spirits are high and he's very happy to be alive!!

He has told everyone in the hospital to never go on Carnival and if they want to go on a cruise...Disney is the way to go!!! I am trying to encourage him to join us next Thanksgiving!!

Lisa- I am glad to hear that your dad is improving. I hope that he continues to get better. It is a hard thing to deal with, especially at this time of the year.

Willie and Priscilla- I see things are still cold in Texas! And, Lampy, I won't even mention your weather. Yikes! It was actually hot here over the weekend (in the mid 80's Sunday when I was hanging Christmas lights).

Anybody get a chance to watch any college football this weekend. Wow! Go Gators!

First some background. I was on the Thanksgiving Magic cruise last year. There was a little drinking going on.

I went in the the gingerbread house. Then I let the DD in, and she posed for a photo.

The chefs were still working on it during our cruise. One afternoon we stopped by to speak to the chef. He had a bunch of pieces of gingerbread that he had cut and was apparently going to discard. We asked him if we could taste it (it really smells good). He gave us a couple of whole pieces of gingerbread.

We brought those back to the cabin, and DD was munching on them. Mrs. TCD asked where we got it. We told her that we took it off of the gingerbread house. (She was not amused). You had to be there.

Lampy and Willie- That is too funny! I have sailed on RCCL, Carnival and Princess, and you guys (and the rest of the turkeys) definitely drink more than anyone I saw on any of those cruises!

looks like some of the other sailings have a "norwalk virus" problem.......We never had that on our Turkeyday sailings......TCD, not only have we proven the "buffalo theory" but, alcohol DOES kill germs!!! Not a germ had a chance on those sailings!!! Here is to health!!

Professor Lampy- You are correct again! DCL really ought to think about hiring you to be on the cruise staff.

For those of you posting to this thread, I am beginning to wonder if this is going to be another "off" year for the Thanksgiving cruise? Our thread doesn't seem to have a whole lot of action yet.

'Yet,' is the BIG word. Just wait. Remember how much last year's thread gained momentum just two mos. before sailing? And I think we have even more posts 1 year before the sail date than we did for the 2005 sailing.

Hey, didn't Trey and Tonya sail just last week? Where are you guys? Did you book Turkey Day 2007 while onboard?

Other 2005 cruisers...Goofyhouk(Paul), Disneyfan37(Maria), Scorpio(Sherri)..where are you? Please post. And better yet, sail again with us!

Priscilla- You are right that the 2005 thread started kind of slow. Heck, TCD didn't start posting until some time in the summer. But, you can see that there is already a thread going from the cruise that Trey and Tonya just got off of which is hopping (BTW if you are reading this post, Tonya, props on the t-shirts-it is good to see that there was another sea of green on the Magic). It just seems like there are not a lot of folks interested in Thanksgiving 2007. We shall see.
