Thanksgiving 2007!!!

OK- I have to pull this thread up from page two, again.

Lampy, Willie is pulling ahead of you. I know you can sneak up on him.:rotfl2:

So, how is the weather today in Indiana? :cold: I get the Chicago station WGN on cable here, and saw the weather report last night. The 7 day forecast is that it will not go above 32 for the next week! It is 62 here now (11 am) and we are expecting a high of 75. :sunny: Lows in the 50's and highs in the 70's for the next week.

How about a photo of your back yard?

TCD

Yesterday was the first day above single digits and 0 windchill in 8 days!! Tomorrow 26, the "lake effect" snow Sunday night thru Tuesday....you know the weathermen....."could be a dusting or could be up to 14 inches by Tuesday"........lake effect! Looks like 40's by Monday the 19th

Oh, you poor, miserable, soul. Highs only in the upper 60s. Life is tough.

:lmao:

You're right, it does beat freezing. And, BTW, I always loved California. I haven't been there in over 20 years, but I remember how I love the beaches and the mountains there.:earsgirl:

I actually spent some time as a kid in Texas. Christmas in San Antonio where my Grandparents lived. They owned a little beer and wine shop where they used to make their own. As kids we used to drink the special beer my grandfather made for the kids, that was of course extremely light, if any at all, on alcohol. I also spent an entire summer with them when they moved out of San Antonio and moved to Lake Hills, TX. They had a house right on the lake. I remember I was only allowed outside in the morning til about 11:00 or so, then it was back in the house until 6:00 or 7:00 at night. It was major hot there. The only time I could go out in the middle of the day was if we were swimming or boating on the lake. I also remember all of the crazy snakes I would see swimming on top of the water - very scarry!!!:scared1: I also got stung by a baby scorpion when I went to go pick up a towel one day - Teaxas is such a wonderful place;)

Yes, it gets VERY hot here. We quit swimming about mid-July last year, as our pool felt like soup.:( Yes, there are a LOT of snakes too. The good thing, the winters usually ARE short (I don't know about this year though.)

Hello Everyone!

We finally got confirmation that we are going to be joining you on the Thanksgiving 2007 Cruise. We (9 in all) were supposed to sail on the December 30, 2006 New Year's Cruise, but our plane was delayed in Texas (we don't hold that against you Texans, by the way). Try as we might, we couldn't get out of St. Louis the morning of the cruise. We were crushed because the rest of our family reunion group (15 others) all sailed without us. This time around, we are not taking any chances as we are arriving in Orlando the day before the cruise.

I've been reading some of your posts (61 pages!), and it sounds like you are a really fun bunch! I can't wait!

It gives TCD a chance to be the "#1 poster" and for Willie and I to meet up to discuss "strategy". LOL

Welcome Debbie! I can't believe that you missed your cruise! That had to be devastating.

So there are nine of you? Give us the stats!

Don't worry about the rest of your family, you are now a part of the Turkey Day Magic family! We are just like a real family, with weird uncles and everything (Willie and Lampy).

LAMPY! What the heck is your crawfish cooker doing out in the weather???

The Cajuns around here(we live near the Louisiana state line) would hang yer tail out for tha gators! Ya gotta take care 'o de mud bug cooker, cher!

Nope, TCD, I was not in jail. Maybe a little hung over, tho.

Actually I was busy attending a class. Yep, improving my mind. Yessirree!

It is time to renew my Texas Concealed Handgun Permit, and I have to take a class every 4 years to renew. We had to go to the shooting range a 8:00 AM Sunday morning.
Of course the instructor says right off in her speech, that you cannot test (shoot)if you are under the influence of any type of alcohol. So, I had to explain the Buffalo Theory to her, and the fact that at least 8 hours had elapsed since my last brewski. Then I went and shot a perfect 250 out of 250.

There were a few other red necks there that looked like the Buffalo Theory was not working properly. One did well on the shooting part, but when we were doing the paperwork, it seems that he has had a few scrapes with the law. That is a no-no. He wasted his time, because you cannot have been convicted of any crimes to get a CHL. He was kinda ticked off.

Kelli used to have a CHL, but she let it expire. She said she had the license for 4 years and never got to shoot anybody, so it was a waste.
(What good is that kind of hunting license? :confused3 )

Hey Andrew,

Can you believe the racket over the "pom pom incident"? Your Gator player was proper in slapping the dang thing out of his face. The cheerleader was pretty rude in my estimation...

Our Aggies are doing pretty well on the court these days, too. Gig em!

Whoops-

Willie has a concealed weapons permit? From Texas? Wait a minute- is there really such a thing? In Texas? Isn't that shotgun in your truck rack enough?

I think you need to tell everybody about the buffalo theory.

Oh yeah, it's a good thing for you that Kelli's license expired. It probably would not be a good idea for her to have access to a gun with you around. Although, no jury would convict her. ;)

TCD

P.S. W- you know I'm kidding about all of this right?

And, what is DCL's policy on the concealed weapons?- I need to know if you might be packing. I think that I can outrun you (if I get a head start), but maybe not a bullet.

What Pom Pom incident? You mean this:

Yeah, the Gator Fans are agitated about that!

But, I just say:

SCOREBOARD! :woohoo:

Willie, Kelli had a CHL? You must be very proud of her.:) Rob's wanted me to learn how to shoot for a while, but can't get me to stay outdoors long enough! Actually, I tried skeet shooting years ago, but wasn't a very good shot, and gave up. I think he'll have better luck with Rachel though. She's his 'outdoors' buddy, and not a wimp about sporty activities, the way I am. (Do you shoot skeet and/or trap?)

Andrew, yes, Texas does permit concealed handguns. ::yes:: I haven't yet met any 'Barney Fifes,' who shoot themselves in the foot.:happytv:

Lampy, you would do fine at a crawfish boil. Lots of beer. Lots of music. Lots of food. Lots of fun. We do a few each Spring in my backyard.
