I appreciated each and every answer.

We had our first joint interview yesterday morning in our home. You can bet that we REALLY cleaned on Sunday. And I made sure I had fresh coffee brewing so the house would smell good.

The guy was really nice and didn't even really scope out the house. (Although he did tell us that one woman was so prepared that she ALPHABETIZED her pantry). He spoke with us and asked questions for about an hour and twenty minutes. I thought it went really well.

He will be back in 2 weeks (Good Friday -- which I was taking as a holiday anyway) to do separate interviews and then anothe joint one.

All in all it was painless (and honestly pretty enjoyable).

Once this homestudy is done, we just have to find a birthmother (easier said than done, right).

Thanks again to everyone for their support.

Hurray!!!

Best wishes on your Quest!

Ahhh, I remember those days well, Liz. You'll do fine. My continued best for you both.

I had given away the beer over the weekend and he didn't even look in my kitchen! :jester:

Can I ask how you go about starting the process? DH and I are thinking of adoption, and I have no clue where to start. We would like to do domestic...

Sounds like it went really well. I hope the remaining part of the process goes quickly and that you find a birthmother soon :)

I think you should print out all the threads you have posted about the process to show your little angel someday. I am adopted and think it would be really cool to see what my parents were thinking as they went through the process before they brought me home.

Best of luck. We enjoyed our interviews also. We are STILL waiting to hear about the baby. I guess the situation is that since this baby is in a good foster home, he is not an emergency. The baby's social worker has had several emergencies to deal with in the last several weeks and so has had to put my case on the back burner! Very frustrating, but since I am a tax accountant it would be very difficult to drop work right now. Hopefully, by the time the 15th runs around, the social worker will be able to make a decision on the baby!

Glad to hear it went well, Liz. Best of luck to you as you go through this :)

Ah, I knew you would be fine! Continued luck and best wishes for you!
