I was raised and still live in Biloxi, MS. My grandparents (both paternal and maternal), aunt/uncle/3 cousins and many friends have been left homeless because of the storm surge of Katrina. I have seen more devestation than anyone should have to see, ever. Photos and video just do it no justice.

I just want to thank anyone and everyone for donations, thoughts and prayers. Thank you to the Red Cross, Salvation Army and other charity organizations and also large corporations or small companies that are sending donations. Thank you to all the extra man power of the National Guard, utility companies, truck drivers, etc. Thank you to all the men and women who've come here to help, volunteer, cook, give hugs. Thank you to America and all of its wonderful people who have been by our side. Thank you to anyone I may have forgotten to mention. You really have no idea how much you are appreciated or how lucky my family and I feel to be a part of this Nation. I just really needed to thank you all! God Bless!

I've been concerned for you all in Biloxi since New Orleans has been on the news the most and probably in our minds the most.

I've been talking to a customer all day who is there (trying to get them a circuit breaker so that FEMA has some power...an earlier post from me) and he has such an incredibly optimistic attitude!

I don't know, I think a lot of us are getting tired of the blaming and hearing about what's not being done. I was starting to feel cynical about our country, so thank you for your comments, they mean a lot!!!

(Also, please let me know if you know anyone who needs some boys clothes size 3T-4T)

Mississippi was my first scare. My grandma was missing for a few days. She turned up in Alabama. She resided in Moss Point. God bless you.

The MS Gulf Coast is FULL of optimism! We will be back, better than ever! There just isn't any sense in wasting energy and emotion into laying blame. There is a lot of work to do, but we are all getting help and it will get done. I have no doubt about it! Words really can't describe all of the help and compassion i've seen in the past 11 days. It is truly heartwarming.

Snoopymom: I will ask around about the boys clothes and let you know. I know many families who've lost everything, I just have to think of any with little boys.

mamaprincess: I am so glad to hear you found your grandma! God Bless you and your family as well!
