Thanks to all DISigners. My shirts with pix.

Hi,

all your shirts are great!! Who did the HSM and the were going to the world designs?

Thanks
Laurie:confused:

Thanks!:goodvibes
Amy (M_I_C_K_E_Y) did the HSM2 design and Maria (Cruiser1969) did the We're off to see the world. Maria only takes requests by pm.

I just have to thank the DISigners again because I had a blast showing off our shirts and EVERYWHERE we went we got tons of compliments on them! It made the trip just so much more fun!!:cool1: I hope to post pix of my girls wearing their shirts because they were just too cute! Can't wait til we figure out when we're going again so I can start on more shirts! :rotfl2:

I'd like to add that almost all of the shirts held up when washed and still look like new!! I turned them all inside out and washed on cold. For some reasons a couple of my designs (or course had to be my shirts) ran onto the shirt. I even used the same transfer paper and washing method as the girls so I'm not sure what happened . Guess I'll just have to try mine again since they were/are the scrapbooking Disney designs...these can be worn any time! So fun!!

Sorry if I missed this but would you mind sharing where you got your shirts. They are such pretty colors and I would like to make a few for DD when we go next month but have not seen any plain shirts in such pretty colors.

Thanks :goodvibes

I got my girls shirts mostly at Target in the girls department. They had the nicest selection of plain shirts and they were fitted. Not sure they still have them with the cold weather moving in...I guess it depends where you live. A couple of the others were from Carter's and OshKosh on summer clearance. Thanks for asking!:goodvibes

Okay, maybe a dumb question, but here goes...

For the pumpkin ones on the black shirts, did you cut out the pumpkins before ironing to have no background color showing?

I haven't tried a shirt yet so I am trying to get it all fixed in my mind before I start.

These are great and I am really inspired!!! Thanks for sharing them with us.:thumbsup2

Yes...I had to trim all of the dark transfer paper off around the pumpkin before ironing it on because, the dark transfer paper would show up on the shirt as a solid white and not a clear see thru white. Does that make sense? You may want to get a couple of old tees and try a couple of practice designs first....that's what I did until I figured it all out. Start with a smaller design until you figure out how the paper works, the iron heat settings and amount of time you press on the design without scorching the shirt. Once you practice a couple of times, the shirts are really easy to do! Happy ironing and good luck!:cheer2: Hope that helps. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks so much! They really do look great :goodvibes

Wow, the shirts look wonderful! You are off to a great start for your trip!

Hi PHefner,

Your shirts look great! I just recently found this thread and became inspired to try to design something simple. Anyway, how were you able to transfer your designs without having that "white" border? I noticed the designs with names had a colored border so you probably just cut around the border. However, what about your "scraped it" design and also the Mickey head on the blue shirt design -- how were you able to cut around it so that the white did not show? I am so impressed.

I have designed something with the words "Disney World 2008" under the picture, but I don't know how to cut around it?

I appreciate any help you could offer. Thanks!!!

I used a light transfer paper for my white and blue shirts. It is transparent when you iron it on. (That's why you don't want to use it on dark shirts because you wouldn't be able to see your design because the shirt color would show through.) I cut as close to the wording as I could without cutting it off. I found though, that the light transfers don't hold up as well as the dark transfers do. Dark transfer paper prints much brighter!! When I did use a dark transfer I added my own border to cut around to make it easier. I know I've seen some people cut their designs (i.e. around each letter of name) out but I don't have that much patience.

Hope that helps. Good luck. I love these shirts...in fact i'm wearing one now and I've been back for awhile. :thumbsup2

That REALLY helps! I don't have the patience to meticulously cut around those intricate borders either! Thanks again!
