sorry someone is being such a jerk...not sure why they would feel the need to blast you with lame emails. Me thinks someone needs to get a life.
::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes::

OMG! I probably shouldn't post at all really as I have no experience whatsoever of hurricanes, I'm not even in the U.S. but I just felt compelled to post because I think the person who sent you that email is a moron of gigantic proportions. Just be glad you don't have to deal with such a jerk in real life - imagine living with someone that insensitive and idiotic. :teeth:

Just to add that the awful devastation of Hurricane Katrina captured the hearts of people around the world and you have the love and support of everyone here on this side of the Atlantic. I hope you and your loved ones, neighbours and friends have found some peace and stability and that life treats you well after all the trauma you've been through. :goodvibes

Some people seem to think they can say whatever they want in an email. I guess they feel even more anonymous than on the board. I have been on the receiving end of some very nasty emails. Mostly pertaining to my mothering skills and my profession. I have decided that next time I get one I am going to post it for all to see. That way the sender can't hide.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I can't imagine the strength it took/takes to keep going. God bless.

I always wonder why New Orleans seemed to get the lion's share of the attention. It's very unfair but I wonder if it's because journalists and others tend to be more familiar with New Orleans? Also, maybe the thought of something like this happening to a city is a bit staggering?

I don't know but it kind of seems like many people have even forgotten New Orleans lately. :confused3

Chuck-

If you've held off for that long about these abusive emails from cowards who haven't walked 2 feet (let alone a mile) in your shoes- you deserve this time to vent.

Just remember that you're bigger than they are.

By that I mean that your heart is bigger, your mental strength is greater, and your ability to feel for others in your position (and worse) is much more generous in spirit than these parasites who would try to bring you down to their level.

They are really small-minded, unhappy people who would like nothing better than to know that they're affecting you in a negative way. You know what they say- 'if I'm miserable, I want the world to be miserable too."

You, your family and everyone else affected by the hurricanes are in my thoughts and prayers.

It seems to make a few step back and take a look, it helps vent a little too, makes the day go better :teeth:

Ok, my DD 7 just told me it was time to go to the park.... and we are off

Sorry anyone was stupid enough to compose or spread an email like that.

A blizzard doesn't compare to a Hurricane. Been through both.

The more widespread the devastation the harder to recover. If a small area is hit, freinds and neighboring communities can help, provide supplies to buy to rebuild , provide jobs to earn money etc..
But when the devastation is across several states it takes a lot longer to recover.

They expect a major Hurricane to hit the NE in the next couple of years. If we fare better it will be from learning the lessons of Katrina.

no you arent , nopw take that little darling to the park. go. get you tail up and get busy.. some of us know shes actually the one in charge and you better mind her now,, get at it..

It is a shame that people can be so heartless. If they only knew...

Chuck I want to thank you for being a great guy. My mom lived in Bay St Louis and lost everything. Luckily she was able to move back to New Orleans and live with her cousin. I know so many over there are still suffering, just as there are many here. Dh and I want to go and help over there as soon as I am able.

Hun I would be the last to say I am a great guy, I do tend to voice my opion sometimes when I should keep my mouth shut, I do tend to make some people mad, I have been to New Orleans, I spent a few days over that way, some if it I was paid for and some of it was volunteer, if you are going to volunteer, the Pearlington,Waveland, and Bay St Louis areas still has alot to do all help would be greatfull. :teeth:

Hi Chuck... :wave2:

My parents live in Grand Bay, AL....about 20 minutes from the hardest hit MS. I born in Mobile and after 38 yrs we moved to FL. I know about and have experienced my share of hurricanes. and will probably experience plenty more.

I appreciate you and those in your field for all the hard work you do during times like Katrina. Comparing a Cat 5 hurricane to a snow blizzard if proof enough this individual is a idiot and does not deserve a moments thought.

Keep up the good work and I wish you and your family well.

yes mam I have, that is where our state fire academy is located, there are really talented instuctors there, some of them are considered the best in the nation, and the community has come togather and doing fine, I just wish some of the other communities would follow siut and get it togather, instead of all the bickering and waiting on someone else to do it, some I can understand why they wait, but the ones that are able and waiting on someone to do it for them,,,, well I have said enough, thank you for your support and best wishes.... Chuck
