Well I know Chuckie in my REAL life he has been a friend of mine for more years than I care to admit :rotfl: But I can assure you he is a fire fighter he does live in ms and he was affected by katrina very much so he has lost some very expensive heavy equipment from his business which insurance refused to pay for and his property had some damage as well. Chuck is a good man .... he may be a perv :rotfl2: but he is one of the best friends I ever had.
:teeth: :teeth: :teeth: :teeth: :teeth: :teeth:

It's amazing how ignorant people can be. I'm sorry you have to deal with idiots like this, Chuck. It's mighty big of them to hide behind an anonymous email, isn't it?

sounds like a good idea think we may go to the park if it warms up enough. Right now it is cold out.

It is supposed to warm up and be nice today, I think a trip tothe park, new rock wall, swings, jumpy things ( :rotfl2: ) walking track, tennis court, and the good thing is I helped with it, WITHOUT PAY, so we just might go and enjoy it some :teeth:

What was the catalyst that cause this email to be sent? :confused3
I have no idea, unless they caught part of a thread that my friends and I were talking on, I was picking at them, they should have read the whole thread not just part of it....

I cannot believe this!

To compare snowstorms to the total, widespread devastation of Katrina is ridiculous. I "get" the part about nobody ever caring about the damage done by massive snowstorms...unless it snows a little in New York or D.C., then it is all over the news. But what happened in New Orleans was NOT comparable.

The people who sent that to you were being just awful :sad2: :furious: .

So, toot them....and have a great day!!!

the entire gulf coast from Texas to Florida, Katrina was over 400 miles wide, I have seen sea weed on the high lines (elctrical lines on the medal towers) from Mobile Al to Pearlinton MS ..... thats hundreds of thousands affected, nothing against snow storms, I have been caught in one or 2 myself, just caught me on a bad day......

ChuckB, We live in NE Louisiana so we were spared the awful devastation you experienced. Our youngest son and wonderful daughter-in-law lived at Holly Beach, Louisiana and their home was totally annihilated by that other hurricane that seems to be no big deal to most people, Rita. When they went back to where their little beach side house had been, there was a beach swept clean of even debris, including almost everything they owned. You would think that if you lose your home and belongings to a hurricane there would be equal treatment, no matter what the name of the hurricane.
They would understand ex actually where you are coming from. People do not seem to understand the scope of damage. It's like "oh. it's been a long time age now, aren't you over that YET?" or "a hurricane, wow, well let me tell you about my problems" They have donated (yes, I am thankful to all who donated, and don't mean to sound as if I am not) watched the news, shook their heads, told their neighbor "thank goodness that's not us, but WE have enough sense not live on the coast" had a good Thanksgiving and Christmas with their family in their undamaged homes and they are tired of hearing about hurricanes and refugees. My son and DIL are living in our other son's travel trailer (both are teachers in Cameron Parish and are trying to help their students finish out the school year). There are families still living in tents and metal yard buildings there. These are people who had homes and jobs that simply disappeared when nature destroyed them.
Sorry, this has gotton long and maybe a little off track. I started out this post to tell you Thank God for people like you who helped their neighbors and don't listen to people who don't know what they are talking about. :grouphug:

What part of Mississippi are you in? We lived in Ocean Springs but sheltered at keesler. It was a nightmare. I'm editing to say that these folks sending these emails must not have seen for themselves the true devastation of the coast. I'll never forget seeing people's belongings high up in the trees and whole neighborhoods gone. It's something I still can't wrap my mind around.
God bless,

God bless,
I live in Richton, 22 miles east south east of Hattiesburg, 48 miles north of Biloxi, I gave air miles, we were right in the edge of the eye wall when it went up 59, we had sustained wids at 155 mph here, I was out in it fighting fires and on rescue calls until the wind exceeded 80 mph, we had a close call and had to stop going out when a tree (not a limb, the whole tree) flew into the side of one of our fire trucks and it caught on fire, I picked up pieces of the truck for about 2 miles, it was a wild ride before it was over, the first 12 days I was here until roads were open, then up until the end of september, I was in and out on the coast, down around your neck of the woods, I had to come back here and start trying to put my business back togather, I had run out of money :rotfl: , as a friend of mine stated on here, I had some major loses that the insurance didnt pay for but at least my house was intact, all in all its like I told my dad, I had nothing when I started, at least I still have my house :teeth:

I can't believe that someone would be so cold as to send you such an email. How can they even begin to compare a snowstorm to a major hurricane?

I think that all you can do is delete the email and block the sender if you can. Just consider the source and remember that most of us are well aware of the difference and feel very sad about the whole mess. At least, I hope that most of us do.

thankx, I was just in one of those venting modes this morning, if I could block them I would, they just dont send an addy to block, I kinda think this is one of those thing that might give them some joy, I normally try not to do that but after 2 weeks it kinda got me :teeth: If I did give the idea I was bragging I am not, and I do not wish it to be thought of that way, I was just talking and sharing some stories along with others, I do have some that are funny also, that came from some of the distribution centers, like when we loaded up a truck with ice for the nursing home, we were tired so be patient :teeth: , the driver hopped in his truck and left, then we saw him slip back in and when he walked up to the truck, he blushed and ask "where was I going again?" we pointed and said "2 blocks that way" :teeth:

sorry someone is being such a jerk...not sure why they would feel the need to blast you with lame emails. Me thinks someone needs to get a life.
