After booking a room only w/ the 40% off rate earlier this year, Mom decided she wanted to add DDP (and I actually am excited about this, too!)....
Called yesterday, nope, can't change it...don't know who is more crushed, Mom or me...says if I can get it, she will pay for the kids' (1 at adult price, 2 at kids)...
Well, called guest services, they transferred me to ressies and said to ask for super if any probs...NICEST CM....AND THE DEAL IS DONE!:banana: They cancelled, rebooked, and discounted the packages at my 40% off room rate.
YIPPEE!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE THESE BOARDS!
So...finalizing my restaurant choices...gonna do ADRs after dinner (179 days today:goodvibes :goodvibes ) Just looking for a few more tips from all of you amazing people!

I need to extend my appreciation to CG also. I had booked the cabins for Dec @40%. Didn't add DDP at the time, figuring we had the kitchen. Well.......started thinking about Candlelight Processional, looked at $ & thought I'd be way better off with the plan. Called last week, had to go through guest services but they did change it to include dining(1 day base ticket). Now we are set for Christmas & get to make our ADR's day after we return from our June trip:banana:

Wow, that is great. I didn't think they would give you discounted rooms with the free dining. CONGRATULATIONS. :)

I don't think they got free dining, just changed the 40% off room only to a 40% off MYW package with dining. Still got 40% off the room part, but paid regular price for ticket(s) and dining.
 
Just wanted to let anyone intersted know, that I have also noticed the wonderful job that Canadian Guy has done since he was assigned as a moderator to the resorts boards.

I need to add dining to our trip this fall that I booked with the 40% off. What is the guest services number that you need to call to get this done? I too was told nope.. no way to do it when I called CRO.

You call CRO - they'll tell you no.. then you ask them to contact Guest Services because you understand they might be able to help you. If the CM says no to that.. be persistent.. or ask for a supervisor.

It *can* be done.. Most times.

CRO = Central Reservations Office or something like that.

That name is technically out of date. It's now the Disney Reservation Center (DRC) or something like that..

In other words, the people who answer the phone when you call to make a normal reservation. ;)

Whenever I'm "thinking out loud about changing my resort" :rotfl: , my husband tells me to go find Canadian Guy...he'll know the answers. :)

Truthfully.. I don't know anymore than anyone else.. I just have a LOT more free time..

The CM wouldn't put me through to Guest Services...she said we were only allowed the room discount or pay rack rate + dining. Not 2 discounts.
