i'm sorry that i misinterpreted what you have said in other threads...most specifically the debate one on human rights...
If you are talking about the unrest in Ireland, well....that is YOUR country fighting amoung itself. You are not talking about a force outside of your countries boundaries, attacking you for some evil that they think America is. There is a huge difference between an unexpected, unwarranted attack and civil unrest between your countries citizens. All i want is for justice to be done - I've said all along try them and if found guilty let the full measure of the law take place.
As one who has lived with Terrorism for 30yrs - i want all terrorists brought to justice.

A) You have some serious nerve (and a big helping of ignorance) if you think they're comparable.
B) Living w/terrorism for 30 years-- is this something you're proud of? I find it interesting that the "livng w/it for 30 years" goes hand in hand with your lenient views on dealing with it.

For instance, MOST DECENT Americans think what happend in Omagh and the murders of children was a BAD thing. According to the poster quoted above, apparently those children deserved being ripped apart by a bomb because of somebody's "lenient views of dealing with it".
By the way, DocRafiki, ask the many imprisoned Irishmen (some of them innocent) if they thought the Brits were lenient or perhaps some of the protestors from Black Sunday if they thought their treatment was lenient. Or is this history lesson (otherwise known as the facts) getting the way of your simple view of the world?
You didn't do very well in "reading comprehension" in school, did you? Please folks, its okay to disagree with one another, but when you actually come to this board and attempt to suggest that blowing up an Irish child is somehow "just desserts" for a "lenient" judiciary, but that the killing of Americans is MUCH MORE of a horror and unjust, your just making yourself into a public spectacle.
...just another example of the magnitude of 9/11/01. The others you mentioned were more on the scale of what other countries have endured, and thus people like JJ have no business giving us their "been there, done that, you'll get over it" garbage.Oh, by the way, since you are obviously in need of a history lesson. When you say "Americans aren't the kind to sit idly by..." Oh yeah??? How about the Beirut bombing, Beirut kidnappings, First World Trade Center Bombing, USS Cole..." Sounds like we WERE sitting idly by....
There used to be another clown from Boston here who talked like you, had a REAL attitude problem. You sure feel singularly fortunate in in being most representative, don't you? Get with it, pal!!!!! And please don't blanketly apologize for my 'ignorance'. If I want to, I will apologize myself for my ignorance.Originally posted by rrsafety
Oh, brother, more American ignorance...can it be true what the Europeans say about us? To tell from this board, the Euros are spot on. Luckily, I'm fortunate to get around quite a bit, so I know the folks on this board are not representative of most Americans............

This is how to change peoples attitudes about the U.S.
Medics from Iran's arch-foe the United States joined scores of other relief workers in the ancient Iranian city of Bam Wednesday in helping survivors of an earthquake that killed at least 30,000 people.
