Just trying to book everything and get all the stress and worrying of transportation and expenses out of the way for our trip in late August, so apologies for the endless amount of new threads im making with my questions :thumbsup2

We've decided that, instead of taking the VEA Shuttle from CDG to Disney, its actually easier and cheaper to take the TGV, which I thought was suprising. Its £51 for 2 adults, which I think is brilliant! It says on the TGV-Europe website that you can either book online or buy tickets at the station, does anyone know if the prices will be different/more expensive if we leave it until we get to the station? Booking online worries me a little as you need to give a specific time of travel. Our flight arrived at 18:25, and I looked at the train leaving at 7pm, Does anyone know if this will be enough time to get our luggage and find our way to the station? As well as this, if our flight was delayed, we'd stand no chance of making the time, So im really not sure what to do.

Any suggestions?

I love the TGV back and forth between CDG and DLP - if you don't have young children and/or a lot of luggage, I think its a very convenient method of transfer :)

For a flight arrival of 18.25, ideally you want to leave about one hour between that time and your TGV departure time (slightly less if you are only taking hand luggage and are landing at terminal 2). I have always booked our TGV in advance, I think it is slightly cheaper doing it that way. If you're going to wait until you get to the TGV station to get your tickets, you'll need to either get them from the kiosk there, or use the automated ticket machines.

We bought the tickets in advance and found it a pain with delayed trains etc. It was very easy to use the ticket machines in the train station to buy them. We weren't checked on either train.

If it is just two adults you can buy ones that allow you to travel earlier or later. This may be better.

If you book online and pay an extra couple of pounds your ticket will be good for trains up to 2 hours after the time you book. Our train leaves at 17:00 but we can catch any train up to 19:00, only an extra £2 each for the flexibility.

Ahh thankyou very much guys! Sorry to be a pain, but where is the option on the TGV Europe website that allows you to travel up to 2 hours after your booking time? I've looked through the booking pages but cant find any option to do this, or is it automatically given to you as long as you book online?

Thanks for the help, its very much appreciated!

Just to add on, if you arrive at the train station to get your tickets from the machine - if you're too close to the departure time of the train it won't let you book. That happened to us and the que at the desk was huge and went very very slowly so we ended up missing the train.

Re TGV Europe and tickets that are flexible with train times - I'm not sure but I think it gives you an option to pay for a slightly more expensive ticket which is more flexible that allows you to exchange or refund your ticket up to 2 hours after the departure.

Not sure if that is what the other posters meant but the info above is definately on the TGV Europe website. We are going to use the TGV when we go in September so I've been looking into it.....alot. The 10min journey sold it to me, especially since we have a 1 year old who will not be happy sitting on a bus for that long!

Hope you have a lovely time!

Ahh thankyou LJH77. There are 2 different type of tickets, one at 31 Euros and another at 36 Euros, labelled:

Loisir reduced fare - 31 Euros

and

TGV PRO 2nde - 36 Euros

Would anyone know what the difference between the two are? Would it be that the more expensive one allows you to travel 2 hours after your booking time, as explained by Torchy? I cant really see any difference between the 2, apart from the price ofcourse.

Are you looking at the Rail Europe site? It prices in £ and gives you different types of fare - the most flexible ones allows changes up to two hours after the time.

No problemo!

I think that is exactly what it means. Next to the price there is a 'See conditions' box which says:

"This ticket may be exchanged or refunded free of charge up to 2 hours after the departure, in the departure town only (SNCF ticket offices and boutiques). This ticket cannot be exchanged or refunded after that time."

The cheaper ticket you can only exchange or refund up until the day before and with a charge. So if you miss the first train you can book onto the next one (as long as it's within 2 hours) for free.

I think for the 4€ it is probably worth it!
