I hear a LOT about WDW at Christmas (crowds, magic, parades, decorations: etc) but not too much about it at T'giving. I am not lucky enough to be going this year, but...maybe someday! Anyone ever spent T'giving at the World? Anything special? Do the CS restaurants offer special T'giving food? Do those jumbo turkey legs come with a trough of mashed potatoes that one day? Stories, please! I imagine you'd have to feel pretty thankful to be spending T'giving in such a fun place. :wave2:

My whole family, mom/kids/aunts/cousins/etc, went a few years back in 2001 during Thanksgiving week. I really enjoyed the weather. The only thing was Thanksgiving Day we stayed in MK since we had PS there to eat at Crystal Palace. The meal was wonderful, lots of characters came by. The park was decorated for Christmas and we got to see the Christmas tree lighting that night. We're going back again for Thanksgiving this year if finances work out.

Hope you get to live your dream during Thanksgiving soon!

:)

We've been three times during Thanksgiving week: 1999, 2001, and 2003. It is a great time to go weather wise- out of three trips only two short (very short) showers and we wore shorts every day. It can be a little chilly in the mornings and at night- just a light jacket for the kids will take care of this. The Christmas decorations always went up the day after Thanksgiving the first two years and this past year were up when we arrived- Sunday before Thanksgiving. They are truly beautiful! We always went Sunday before T-day and left Saturday after. We've done the Candelight Processional at Epcot- wonderful, but always missed MVMCP (plan to do it this year when we go in Dec. though!)
Crowds: 1999- pretty good Mon- Wed were very managable, Thursday and Friday crowded
2001: just after 9/11- the place was empty most of the time
2003: the biggest crowds we've had this week by far- even Mon-Wed were crowded. We changed our itenary and used FastPass and it was OK. Did EE and then left that particular park by lunch.
We were really surprised at the crowds this year. Then again, a CM told us the whole year had been pretty steady as far as crowds go.
It is special to be in WDW for Thanksgivng. The Christmas decorations are wonderful! Good luck on planning your trip!!!

We spent the week of t-giving 2003 at WDW with extended family staying at Sports All-star. We had a great time. Weather was very good; 70s during day wearing shorts and only rained 1 evening (Friday I think). Post the rain a cold front came in and cooled Sat. down to the 40s!

Crowds: MK was the most crowded; spend Mon. and Wed. fighting the crowds. Without using Fastpass it would have been a big drag. MGM had a very comfortable level of crowds on Thur. and Sat. Epcot was very crowded on Thurs. as well as AK on Friday. MK and AK were the most crowded.

Turkey on Menu: Most resturants added a traditional turkey as an option (i.e., Brown Derby @ MGM). We actually ate t-giving in the German rest. in Epcot, so had german food for dinner (no turkey option here).

Christmas decorations: Everything was decorated and looked great!

Would I go again at Thanksgiving? Probably not, due to the crowds. October looks pretty good to me; low crowds and Food/Wine Festival at Epcot.
