Ok so I'm not DVC but I can't pass up a good Texas thread. I'm in/around McAllen but from near Corpus Christi!

Yay, finally someone else who lives in the Valley. Or even Corpus Christi is a lot closer than I've seen on here so far-a couple people from "nearby" (4 1/2 hrs) San Antonio.

Ha! I saw your post yesterday and told DBF "OH WOW! Someone is close to us"!! He's from Matamoros and I am in BV at least twice a week for work! Glad to meet you!

Well I'm a displaced Texan if that counts. Until last year we had only lived in TX.

I was born in Beaumont and have also lived in Lubbock, Temple, Corpus Christi, and Big Bend NP.

DH was born in Corpus Christi and has lived in Temple, Wimberley, Cameron, San Marcos, Lubbock, and Big Bend NP.

We miss TX so much. Can't wait to visit in 2 months. Most of our family is spread out around the state.

I grew up about 20 miles from Stephenville. That's where we went if we needed to go to Wal-Mart! Ahhh...the memories!

Ty has a big ego but Tuff Hedeman is a real nice guy. I talked to him once a few days after he rode and his wife kinda had to help him around. He was beat up pretty bad.

When I lived in the area Stephenville had lots of Amish people - I think from PA - who had moved into the area. I remember one time my sister put 50 cents into the Coke machine at Wal-Mart and it didn't give her a coke. There was an Amish boy out there who rocked that machine all over trying to get her coke for her! He was out for fairness!

Would that have been Hico or Dublin?
