Can someone update me on the testing rules for sailing out of Vancouver. Flying in from Toronto on a Saturday and boarding on a Monday. Do l need a covid test before boarding as well as one at the port and if so how many days in advanced. I need to know if l have to find somewhere in vancouver to take a test.

Assuming arrival from Toronto -- because you either live there or will be spending time there before moving on to Vancouver -- the only test required at this time is the embarkation day test that DCL provides at the terminal. You will need to upload your vaccination documentation to SafePassage, though.

Thank you, yes l live in Toronto. It makes things a lot easier if the only test l need is the one at the port with Disney.

I should add…if anyone in your party is <5, they do need a pre-cruise test 24 hours up to 3 days in advanced. Vaccinated passengers only need to test at embarkation.

Fellow Canadian traveling to Vancouver on Saturday for a Monday departure. \

We have a 2yo DS who we will test Friday (as he is unvaccinated he requires an extra test), then we all fly to Vancouver on Saturday morning. We are going to hit the aquarium and maybe Capilano Suspension Bridge as well as seeing some family.

Monday morning we will all head to port to get swabbed (6 adults, 6yo and 2yo) and board.

We have no little ones to test, just hubbies and myself. We have the September 5th cruise for our 40th anniversary . Between worrying about covid testing and my cancer marker tests and ct's , l live like 3 months at a time till the next group of tests. If my May tests are good we can book our flights, my next tests will be late August if they show something, too dam bad, l'm going. Since 2019 l have lost two sections of my colon which there is little left and both ovaries . Terrible chemo, and now they are checking something else. I really need this trip.

I hope you have an amazing cruise!

This is the same Safe Passage testing for under-5s that DCL requires out of the Florida ports, not a special Canada thing, right?

Yes, I was referring to the DCL requirements. To my knowledge, DCL has kept the age 5+ fully-vaccinated requirement for all embarkation ports, with pre-cruise testing for >5's.

OP is already in Canada so ArriveCAN requirements don't pertain -- though I think if children are traveling into Canada with fully-vaccinated adults they are exempt from pre-arrival testing.

Would you happen to know the current mask situation on flights? We're flying Boston to Vancouver direct, then Vancouver to Boston direct coming home. Kids are vaxxed-7, unvaxxed-4, and unvaxxed-2.

Under 6 is not required to mask for travel to /from Canada.
Under 12 is not required to be vaccinated to enter Canada if traveling with a vaccinated adult, though DCL still requires 5+ must be vaccinated.

ArriveCAN has to be filled out to board the ship. That is separate from the completion that visitors to Canada would have filled out to enter Canada as they arrive in preparation to depart on the cruise.

Thank you for that clarification. ArriveCAN pertains to any arrival into Canada, including returning from a cruise. The post to which I originally responded was asking about pre-cruise requirements.

For cruises that originate in Canada (eg DCL's Alaska cruises), ArriveCAN is complete prior to embarkation on the cruise.

I am still confused about ArriveCAN uploads. I just did as much as I can in the app at this time (created the account, added our passports and vaccine info. We are on the Hawaii to Vancouver cruise. ArriveCan says to finish the form 72 hours before embarkation but what other info needs to be uploaded.....stuff like ship name and itinerary? I don't think fully vaxxed needs to provide a test to enter anymore.
