She doesn't realize he's had a long time to think these things out.
He wishes he could be human so he could do so many things for her. He's afraid to hurt her.
And he feels like he's a demon, he wouldn't want the sweetest thing in his life to be one too.

And I totally have a cut on my hand that is in the shape of vampire bite marks.
Ahaahha.
