Test Track Singing Group Video

I guess my standards are just not that high - I enjoyed it. (I never considered that it was meant to take the place of TT, or lessen the sting. I figured they were making use of the space while introducing the Chevrolet theme).
As far as the storyline went - I tend to suspend disbelief when in WDW. I think that probably comes from inhaling the pixie dust.

Most of you are too young to remember "See the USA in your Chevrolet" - For me, it brought back memories.

I am all about live music and other performances in the parks. I love bumping into the Tomorrowland Brass, the Jammitors, the landscape-themed one (whatever it's called), but this was sad. Great performers, but the costumes and premise were just sad.

Why on earth would they want to ATTRACT people to a closed attraction?

I feel like I was just called into the principals office. I thought talking about an attraction was ok on this thread. SORRY!!!

But seriously: how do I get to Ellen's Energy adventure (for a good 45 minute AC Break) without having to pass them? The thought of one of them trying to "pull" me over just disturbs me more then I can explain. And also, right outside of that side of Mousegears is were Tinkerbells's forest (flower & Garden festival) usually is, how in the world am I going to be able to get to it.

And DH said they should have moved Lightening & Mater over there - it would looked better, and a great photo op.

What is wrong with just having an a cappella group singing car themed songs? I mean why try to force down our throats that they work for Chevy and they're working on Test Track and all of that? It's just not very believable and painful to watch. Hopefully they can do some reworking to their little show.

Last year at Hollywood studios they had a singing group on a truck.(in the back lot) The keyboards and drums were attached somehow. They were playing current and popular music. They were very good and many people stayed including the 5 of us for the entire show. Yes people were singing with the band too. It was pure entertainment. :cool1:
We will be there in 2 weeks:banana:with our 3 kids:dance3:. Looking foward to it very much.

I just have to know....which one are you related too???? Come on give it up. I didn't say that they were not talented because they are, however, I would love to know what drinking game the Imagineers were playing when they decided that this was how they were going to calm people who didn't know about the closing.

And I am convinced, that the red head with the blue dress has played Ariel - the hand gestures, the voice......just saying.

So let me make it clear, it's the cheese factor, not the entertainers that I am making fun of. By the way, it's that same cheesiness that keeps us ALL going back for more.
I think maybe the reason you can't seem to understand it is that you keep trying to make the group more than it is. By putting a singing group at Test Track, they're not trying to "calm people who didn't know about the closing". They're just adding some live entertainment to Future World and probably fulfilling some clause in a contract with Chevrolet. And based on the schtick, I imagine it's SUPPOSED to be cheesy.

For those who have decided they didn't like the group just based on the video, you don't have to go see them. However, live entertainment is meant to be seen ... well ... live. If I based my opinion of the Streetmosphere actors at DHS on what I saw on YouTube, I'd have stayed far far away. Thankfully, someone forced me to go and watch them perform live. And while they are not my favorite performers at the parks, I definitely have a different appreciation for what they do based on seeing them in person. :confused3

Oh for goodness sake! They're not going to physically manhandle you into watching them. Just walk to your destination and don't stop to watch. Or ... you can time your walk to and from Ellen's Energy Adventure or Tinker Bell's Forest for a time when the group is off-set. The group does not perform non-stop from from park open until park close. All you need do is look at an entertainment schedule when you arrive at the park and avoid that area during the times that the group is performing.

(As an FYI ... the street actors at UK and the Ziti Sisters at Italy will also make an effort to "pull" you over to watch them, so you might want to avoid those areas as well just before performance time.)

Not related to any of them, just stating an opinion. :confused3

As to stay on topic, my "strategy" will be to avoid them like the plague! Thanks for the heads up. :thumbsup2

OMG are you serious??? Thanks for the heads up. I have only ever seem one live group (at MK) and I ran for the hills when they started trying to get people to interact.

Yikes. It's much worse than I was imagining. That was a pretty pathetic display. I feel sorry for them. I bet they were dreading this for weeks! :) I would also be surprised if they were still doing this when I come in May. Are there any signs that indicate that the ride is actually closed? I bet the majority of guests didn't understand that Test Track was closed. I bet they thought it was a pre-show and the gates would open any minute. Any....second...now. Please God. haha.

They seriously should have moved the Rapunzel M&G to that area. Oh, I forgot, it doesn't fit thematically. Isn't there some way to connect Rapunzel to cars???

My DH says they will change it withen the next 2 weeks.

I had given them the benefit of the doubt, but now that I've seen this first act, all I can say is that I hope they change it up.

Don't make this so much about a Chevy commercial! I would much rather have them sing some classic cars songs, especially Beach boys like 409 (which is a Chevy 409 engine), or others like GTO, Pink Cadillac, etc...

Stop pushing the Chevy jingle and give people what they want, great songs!

The Test Track All Stars can sing!, but sing the right stuff!!!

Dan

How could they, they only posted that the ride closed a couple of hours after they performed. :confused3 :rotfl:

Great they could put a show together and perform it before they even knew they needed it. :rotfl2:

I don't know what they call her but... you know that lady at Animal Kingdom on the stilts? The funky lady covered in leaves? They should put something like that in front of Test Track. People would be too confused and taken off guard to make an issue of it. They'd just move right along. No questions asked :)
