Test Track Singing Group Video

OMG are you serious??? Thanks for the heads up. I have only ever seem one live group (at MK) and I ran for the hills when they started trying to get people to interact.
Yes ... the following groups will hope to get you to interact with them:

  • MK - Trolley Singers (they come off the trolley and pull in people to dance); Move It! Shake It! Celebrate It! (Characters and dancers pull people -- mostly kids -- up to dance); Frontierland Hoedown (CMs look for square dance partners); PUSH the Talking Trashcan (he'll actually follow you around and talk to you)
  • Epcot - Test Track All-Stars; Ziti Sisters (Italy); World Showcase Players (UK); Moroccan Belly Dancer (Moroccan Restaurant); Sergio (Italy - may toss small soccer balls at you or pull you in so he can juggle around you)
  • DHS - Streemosphere performers (all of them are interactive skits involving audience members)

:earsboy:

I had given them the benefit of the doubt, but now that I've seen this first act, all I can say is that I hope they change it up.

Don't make this so much about a Chevy commercial! I would much rather have them sing some classic cars songs, especially Beach boys like 409 (which is a Chevy 409 engine), or others like GTO, Pink Cadillac, etc...
Stop pushing the Chevy jingle and give people what they want, great songs!
The Test Track All Stars can sing!, but sing the right stuff!!!
Dan

So I thought about watching it again, but DH said if I did, he was going to leave me here and head to Disney without me in 11 days, but yes, if they could sign better stuff, maybe, just maybe that would help.

How could they, they only posted that the ride closed a couple of hours after they performed. :confused3 :rotfl:

Great they could put a show together before they even knew they needed it. :rotfl2:

:rotfl::lmao:

I don't know what they call her but... you know that lady at Animal Kingdom on the stilts? The funky lady covered in leaves? They should put something like that in front of Test Track. People would be too confused and taken off guard to make an issue of it. They'd just move right along. No questions asked :)

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I spit out my food reading this.

It would have actually made a little since to move Lightening & Mater from DHS to Epcot for this.

HOLY COW - How have I never seen most of these, THANK GOODNESS!!! THIS is why, I avoid parades. And the trash can, it followed me last year, but it didn't bother me b\c it doesn't have arms and can't grab you then I saw the controller and called him out, so he got the trash can away from me real fast. I am ok with me going up to a character and talking to them and interacting, but to be surprised by someone coming up to me, I can't explain it, but it terrifies me.

As Mesaboy 2 said, this is an epic fail. Why couldn't they at least get real "props" not just someone's garbage lids? I hate to be bashful, but I have seen real A Capella groups and the "Test Track All Stars" sound no where near that good. This cannot possibly be there only job at WDW. I, also, don't see why they would want to attract guests to a closed ride.:furious:

I personally think that this is a great video and it sounds like a great group of voices, thank you so much for sharing the link! We will now be making sure to go and hear them sing when we head down in 11 days. Very catchy songs and they certainly put a smile on my face.

I am having a hard time understanding why people are saying that this is "horrible" or "bad", at least they put something good in front of Test Track for the time being! Unless people are being sarcastic about their complaints, than :)

I can't imagine my family showing up to ride Test Track and finding this instead. :)

I thought it was awful.

1. They need better costumes
2. They should be trying to distract people from Test Track not trying to lure people directly in front of it basically saying haha you can't ride this!

I, also, don't see why they would want to attract guests to a closed ride.:furious:

"Hey everybody! Come over here! Come over and look at this ride you can't go on! Don't worry, it will open again in the fall when none of you will be here! ♫ See you in a chevrolet...♫"

OK not the best but not as horrid as is being depicted. Test Track is down, a temporary little shtik is going on for those passing by thinking it's open. It's obviously not a permanent thing -- relax. If you don't like it move on. Such negative vibes.

Negative vibes are somewhat well-deserved based on the way the notification of the closing date has been handled.

Worst part is that they're still not doing a great job getting the point across. Did
you see how confused the guests looked after the performance was over?

I think they should leave the test track area cold and empty. People will see
that it's closed, have whatever reaction they're going to have, and move on. This
song and dance stuff only causes people to linger around the attraction for no
apparent reason. It's always best to rip the bandaid off.

"We're closed. Sorry. Don't cry. Go wait in the long Soarin line or eat something."

Done. :)

My wife said the same thing when I showed her the video. She thinks just a sign saying it's closed would be better than having the vocal group there.
LOL.

Well maybe they can draw the crowd over to TT in May while I run and get my Soaring FP and get in the stand-by line before any "average" Disney goer knows TT is closed:rotfl:

You laugh but I think that's pretty genius. We are in the minority of folks that look into this stuff before going. I bet many people going in August won't even know about this closure until they arrive. I hope everyone gets to go on Soarin, but it doesn't hurt to have an advantage, right? :cool2:

Perhaps I am missing something here, I still really do not understand why everyone thinks this is so horrible.

I mean I can understand people being upset about the ride being closed, but people were just complaining about how the ride needed to be updated and such. I guess with somethings there is no winning. I mean they put something there people complain, if they didn't put something there than people would complain too.

This is left over hate from the fact that Disney only made the official announcement on their website at around 1:30 is today.

Robo started a thread last week asking CM' if they or some one they knew was told not to report to work at TT as they would be the first to know.

Now I understand why some people would be upset. The late-ness of the announcement would be upsetting, but I don't think that the singers are a bad addition.

I don't know I guess I take a weird attitude towards it. I could be upset that there will be 3 things that we wanted to do closed for our trip but then I could say, but now we can do 3 other things that we have not done before.
