Test tomorrow....Update: Surgery 7/31

Sounds you are going through a lot right now. Things are going to get better!! Wishing you the best tomorrow and a speedy recovery!!

I had my surgery at 9:30am, but I didn't get to leave the hospital until about 5:30pm because while I love Morphine, my asthmatic lungs don't want to put forth the effort to breathe as much as they should for hours afterwards. I have 4 puncture holes on my belly. They removed the gallbladder and said that it didn't look too bad, but I swear, if it had looked any worse, I would have been completely non-functional.

Corey is spoiling the heck out of me. She picked up my pain pills and is at Walmart picking up a few extra things that we needed for the house that we didn't buy over the weekend, like more chicken broth. Who knew that I would find it to be more friendly to my sore throat than Jello? But, since my airway is a little ticked off from the intubation, it causes me some stridor, which means that my airway closes off when I drink or eat anything cold and my oxygen saturation drops and then Lindy goes :faint:

It's been a long time since 6am, when our day started. Corey and I will both be headed to bed early tonight. I was there already until a little bit ago when I got up to call my Dad and let you know that I am doing ok. Have a good night guys! I will be around more tomorrow, I'm sure.

Glad it's over with! And you didn't even seem loopy! ;)

:flower3: :flower3: :flower3: :flower3: :flower3:

Yeah! Glad you got through fine.
Speedy convalescing!

It's like the Aerosmith song!!

"There's a hole in my soul, feels like my spleen's been gone forever..."

Glad everything went well, and you didn't seem out of it! Now just a speedy recovery!

I'm doing ok for the most part this morning. I am letting Corey do more for me than I really want to let her do, but I will be better in a couple of days, so I might as well take advantage of the help since it's so sweetly offered. Oh, she bought me my favorite flowers, carnations with variegated colors. Also, she and the dogs & cats gave me a get well card. Each critter had their own paw-writing on the card. It was very thoughtful of them to tell "Momma" to get me a card. ;)

The puncture site at my navel pulls and feels kind of bruised. I am still taking pain killers but I will say that the pain in between my shoulder blades and in my right shoulder is completely gone! I mean, gone as in I thought it was gone with pain killers but it's just gone! I am very happy about that. In that respect, I haven't felt this good in months. They think that the cause of the gallbladder problem was a nasty infection that I had last year. The infection for a brief period had caused me to be septic aka so sick that it almost killed me, but thankfully didn't. Sometimes with that sort of illness, it causes gallbladder dysfunction. So, just when I thought that fight was done and that I could breathe again, it sucker punched me with this. I really hope it's all said and done now.

A big thank you to everyone here for the thoughts, prayers, and pixie dust. I am certain that I am doing so well today thanks to your efforts. :grouphug:

I love the DIS and all of my friends here. :flower3:

Glad it's over with! And you didn't even seem loopy! ;)

Loopy was not an option last night. The new drug, Percocet, either was working and I was passed out or it was out of my system and I was awake. It works for 4 hours and then it just stops. I needed a redose in the middle of the night. I am going to swap back over to Loopy Lortabs after I can finally eat something today. For now, I am still on an all liquid diet. FYI - Rachel Ray Chicken Stock in a box....Yum O!

Glad to hear that the surgery caused the (non-surgical) pain to go away.

I'm wishing you a speedy recovery.

Yes feel better soon as we need some help reigning Wally in.

I just checked in here, and I'm glad things are getting better!! :grouphug:

I had a laparoscopic surgery done last year (not gall bladder, but to remove endometriosis), and the incision in my belly button was the worst one of all of them. The rest never really gave me much trouble. But everytime I moved, my belly button felt like it was being ripped apart! Fortunately, it was only bad for the first few days.

Happy healing, and I hope you're feeling 100% SOON!!! :grouphug:

Thanks y'all! Yeah, the navel one is really being a pain. I was told that it will get worse over the first couple of days and then get better. Corey's mom sent me flowers, my workplace called and texted me today, & my Dad called. I have eaten some today. I was told that a normal diet would be ok, but I haven't felt like eating anything more exotic than mashed potatoes, apple sauce, chicken stock & fat free saltines, sugar free rice pudding, and jello. Tomorrow, I hope to try to be a little more adventurous, like scrambled eggs and grits. lol

Definitely make sure Corey is taking care of you and spoiling you deserve it! I know when I had surgery on my leg last year and needed help taking a shower and even getting dressed for at least 2 weeks after my surgery Jack spoiled me rotten!! But I deserved it ;-)
