started my black friday shopping early, got a new 17" monitor for $100 from Staples (beats the heck out of standing in line @ midnight @ Best Buy...now, if i could only find a cheap camcorder to replace the crappy JVC that died shortly after warranty expired I could eliminate that whole early bird business.

I have a quick minute, but I wanted to tell you Best buy is having an online sale tomorrow. Here, on Black Friday they are going to hand out tickets starting at 4am to be able to get into the store by 5am. I'm sending Lee out on that one.

Thought I would go wit han over the river and through the woods type thing today for the travelers on the way to Thanksgiving.

uggghhh....that is so frustrating when they say they are going to be there at a certain time and then do a no show. Hope they show up soon!

Last count I had 16 people & 1 puggie puppy belly-ing up to the bar, more the merrier got the strawberry pie made, bought buns, apple pie & cupcakes @ sam's...look good to me. my secret shame, I bought some sort of gourmet version of boxed stuffing (going to add celery, onion, mushrooms & dried cranberries). Gravy's done, lumpy as usual, least it tastes good. Turkey #1 cooked & in fridge, #2 thawing in sink.

Anyone else loose their appetite when they cook a big meal, not sure if it's "nerves" or what. My mom's having one of her usual holiday crisises, this time she lost her glasses; good thing I had a back up pair...think she does it for attention; getting rather childlike I'm afraid. No wonder I grind my teeth.

pam - hope your kids are feeling better today.

ocm - you busy whipping up some cookies for company?

tvt - on the road again?

gant - do they celebrate thanksgiving in Japan

mac - hope the HAVC guy figures it out before tomorrow... do you have heat while he's "monkeying" around..sure hope so.

ed - that looks like a trout stream were my daddy taught me how to fish; just couldn't stay off the moss-covered rocks. Always fell in & chased them all away.

Hope everyone does have a wonderful holiday, let's count our blessings.

mac--hope the furnace guy is finally done now...hope it is nice and toasty there!!!

this has been a long day.

furnace dude left here just after 6:15 tonight.

we have heat now.
have not had any heat since tuesday since the heat exchange issue.
we couldn't use the furnace once the dude left yesterday since i didn't want to be turned into the city. long story.

so, the furnace was turned on at 6:00 and the dude stayed for 15 minutes, long enough to get my credit card.

i'm going to bed.
i hate to spend that much money and not be able to wear a thing for what i just spent.

oh, garage door broke and i had to call someone to fix that side door.
he comes out on friday. he came to measure the frame and get my credit card also. the wood has rotted away and its a big mess.


hope you all have a wonderful thanksgiving tomorrow.

i know i will as i will have heat and get to eat lots of turkey !

I'm thankful for so much, but especially thankful for my dear friends here that I can unload on, share the good times, the not so good times and just have LOTS of fun with almost everyday!! You guys are special...hope it is a good day for all of you! Eat lots, back to salad next week

My turkey is in the oven, looking pretty good at this point, hope it tastes as good....got veggies in pans, just need to get potatoes peeled and dressing assembled....it smells like turkey day here!

Mac, i know how you feel!!! finally ordered a new dishwasher yesterday...went down to throw my last load of laundry in the dryer...there was still water standing in my washer!!!! So the guy is coming on tuesday to fix my washer and put my dish washer in! My laptop just shut itself off and now i can't turn it back on so now i will have to deal with that when i get home!

i feel your pain pam. i really do.

last night around 11ish, we found that when the furnace dude shut off the water to the house to connect the humidifier, the valve broke.

i called for a plumber ....it's $200 to come out today being a holiday and all and then his hourly cost and parts.

heck, the bucket fills up on the hour in the basement from the leaking valve.

i figure it won't cost us $300 today or for the 24 hours for what the water will cost us. i am letting it run.........

i'll call plumbers in the morning.

there goes tomorrow now.

but my washer and dryer work.

i hope you get it all fixed soon pam and get it done cheap!
