good morning everyone :sunny:

looks like tony let us sleep in this morning.

i overslept and i blame that on tony.

just remembered my turkey was still in the freezer so i dug it out at 9.
i hope it thaws completely so i don't have to have it sit in water to thaw.

noticed mic was up late last night. my timer shows she posted 11 pm cst.
someone will be cranky today.

i was in a blah mood last night so i decided to go to the movies.
i went up to kenosha, wi cinema since it is well patrolled late at night and felt safer there. i saw the 10:10pm movie/it got over going on 12:45 am
i saw Departed..........all i can say is WOW.

it's a movie i could see again.

i really should start to clean this dump.
i'll be back later

We are heading out to my work, to see if we can get the boys some rides on the fork lift out in the yard....... :cool1:

then I hope nothing.... :goodvibes just want to relax

Ed, love the smilies

the furnace guy came to do the cleaning of the furnace.

he tells me i have spider cracks in the furnace and need to replace it.
then he tries to scare me by saying your house could burn down or you could get carbon monoxide poisening while you sleep.

yea, i know cracks are not a good thing in the furnace so i'll spend time googling all of this.

$2000......he says he can give me a new furnace which that total will include the taxes and installation.

yea, like i have $2k laying around the house at this time of the year.

oh mac--that really stinks!!! Can you price around...maybe you can find cheaper elsewhere.

Mac...he's right....ANYTIME a gas furnace is in need of repair it can lead to terrible problems. I'm not trying to scare you but this is my line of business.
Carbon monoxide is very dangerous.....2K may or may not be a bad price if that includes labor and depending on how big the furnace is. Shop around.....see if you can get a better price....let me know if I can help.

Good Morning everybody.

Along with the sunrise you get some Christmas Smilies if you feel like grabbing them to use.

Nah I'd rather just grab you!!

Mac - sorry about your heater. Glad you liked the movie last night.

Pam - glad to hear Noah is feeling better.

TVT - are you packed yet? :rotfl2:

Mic - I hope you get some R and R today.

Afternoon...got a little quickie nap in, so I feel a tad rested, but its one of those days where you just feel like sleeping

Oh dear mac, sounds serious with your furnace. We replaced ours several years ago before it had a chance to go bop..and it was around that price to replace it...sorry, it stinks I know, been there done that so I feel for you

the spider cracks in the furnace are on the wall where the heat exchanger is. the dude said when the furnace/fan runs, the flames flucuate at this point.

i have called around today and some places want over $3K for this job.

i think i will have to call the first dude back and set something up.

tony, didn't know you worked with furnaces.....and in florida??
i know, stupid blonde joke here....... :rotfl2:

my brother works with heating and a/c units for businesses with his former business. now he has his own company and deals with that and other stuff in contracting. i didn't call him for any advice. think 16 years on this furnace is about average on what i googled today.

ok, i called the first dude that came out and did the cleaning. he will take off the $85 off the cost as that is what i paid him today to do the cleaning.

he said due to the cracks he will do the work tomorrow as our present furnace should not be used much longer. so he plans to be here at 9-10 tomorrow morning and said it would take about 4 hours to take out the old one and replace with the new one.

he'll take a credit card as there is no way i have 2k laying around the house.
he started to frighten me over the danger when he said i needed it done yesterday.......but tomorrow is the next best choice of time to do the job.

want to take bets on which appliance will go next??..............

where's ks today?
and mr robot?
deena?

 cooking, cleaning, cussing...i'm done for the day.

mac - yikes, stripes!!!! sorry to hear of that expensive hit; good thing you caught it before it caused any problems, such a shame. These type of things never come @ a good time.

mic - hows your MIL doing? You inspired me to make monkey bread w/the busquits. Had to hit 2 different stores to find them, had to settle for buttermilk, hope they work.

Had 3 pumpkin pies made today before 9:00 a.m. Going to attempt a strawberry pie tomorrow. Last one I made never set up right. The rec. is simple; prebaked pie shell, strawberries (frozen or fresh), jello & cornstarch...will let you know if it's a keeper. Gave up on making buns, will head off to Sam's tomorrow, had a nice assortment last week; they'll just have to do.

ed - getting ready to email the sheepie icon to my son, all my boys luv sheep for some reason (i don't want to know lol).

to those who are in computer limbo, happy thanksgiving early!

We're now wireless, got 2 computers going. My kids each are stationed @ them fireing off emails to eachother & they don't find it bizzare at all...whatta world we live in:lmao:

think a nice iced tea & a very hot bubble bath is in order; as pam would say...calgon take me away.:beach:

KS, you've been a busy girl...my goal this afternoon was to bake a pie, but I put that aside to take a nap :thumbsup2 SO pies will be the order of business tomorrow for sure. Never got around to the monkey bread either, but I may do it tomorrow...don't you like how tomorrow is always when I'm gonna do stuff ;)

Glad you are getting the furnace replaced mac....I'm with ya, something else will go, it always does...I figure I'm good to go on them til I don't care any more :goodvibes :teeth: if I figure life of appliance compared to my age :lmao: Then hopefully the DIL's will be cooking and cleaning up after me :p

mic-the new rec. i'm trying (instead of the frozen bread dough) indicates 3 tubes of dough; then you boil a sugar mix & pour over, then bake...got it off allrecipies site. Is this how you make yours? The other I had you dipped the dough into pudding, sugar, etc., then baked. Another monkey bread question (I've officially designated you the test thread expert:wizard: lol). I've always made it the same day & it disappeared quickly. Does it hold up well if you make it a day before serving?

KS...here is my recipe: it is called Cinnamon-Vanilla Pull Apart Bread but can be adapted to not use the Tupperware seasoning

1 tbsp. cinnamon-vanilla spice blend
1/2 cup sugar
1 can (12 oz) golden refrigerated buttermilk biscuits
1/4 cup butter melted

Heat over to 400 degrees Spray loaf pan with non-stick cooking spray
In small bowl, combine cin-vanilla spice blend and sugar: mix well. Separate dough into 10 biscuits, cut each into quarters. Dep each piece into melted butter, roll in cinnamon mixture. Arrange in prepared loaf pan. Bake 20 to 25 minutes. Cool 2 min., loosen edges, invert onto serving plate. (I just start layering the little "dough balls" after I sugar/butter them into the loaf pan til its full.

So my recipe differs from your's a little, and it is super easy, a little messy assembling, but it tastes so good warm. Yep, doesn't last long around here either, but see no problem with it keeping. I'd just warm up what I wanted in the microwave. That is why I decided to go with the Grands this time, to make a little bigger batch...it will probably need more of the sugar/spice/butter, but that's not hard to do.

WAKE UP WAKE UP WAKE UP :cool1:

I hope everybody has a great Thanksgiving with your loved ones. Be safe and I will see ya's back here next Tuesday. I'm off to Georgia to spend Thanksgiving and an ALMOST MILESTONE birthday with "the twins" :thumbsup2 Keep an eye out in the papers....She n=may make the hweadlines if she does what she says she is gonna do to me tomorrow...

Remember the damn picture of me in Julies crown?? That is gonna surface AGAIN in a big way I hear..... :confused3 :lmao:

Anyway....be safe....have a wonderful holiday...see ya soon!!
:moped:

have a safe drive to the twins tony.
hope you are wearing your BK crown as you drive...... :teeth:

good morning everyone.
furnace being installed today.

good morning, good morning :dance3: shall we do our pre-thanksgiving dance?

tvt - a king among testers:thumbsup2 enjoy your trip.

mic - thanks, now I'm scared to try the one I have, will rethink it; try not to hurt myself in the process;) .

started my black friday shopping early, got a new 17" monitor for $100 from Staples (beats the heck out of standing in line @ midnight @ Best Buy...now, if i could only find a cheap camcorder to replace the crappy JVC that died shortly after warranty expired I could eliminate that whole early bird business.

Go forth & be productive comrads:wizard:

Morning friends......Tony, enjoy the trek north and give the twins and the little ones all hugs and kisses for us...eat lots of turkey, stuff yourself and enjoy!

KS, I think I may go try and throw some monkey in a loaf pan :goodvibes I can see the grandkids liking it, all sugar ya know :thumbsup2

Everyone enjoy the day, I'll be back later, need to get a start on baking and prep today :grouphug:
