Weird day, going downhill rapidly...

Dr I took DS to had to leave in middle of appt. He didn't think it was too unusual to get hit in the head w/a baseball bat. Of course, we're talking a town full of strip clubs - guess it passes for standard operating procedure!

Dr. disappeared during exam, nurse came in & told us his mom was taken to hospital & he had to leave. Umm, that's a shame but what about my kid sitting here on the exam table, you know - the one I have to scream @ for him to hear me? Nurse said dr. will call in a day or two???

As we drove past the 1st strip club "Bare Ecstasy", DS (who is 19 to be 20 in July) innocently sez: "...oh, I know where we are, I've been there before...". Well, screaming won't work. Hope he didn't spend his allowance there. Guess the legal age is 18 in PA since they don't serve liquor.

micky4ver - I luv Pittsburgh but, if I were moving it would be to warmer climate. However, we do apparently have our share of gentlemens' clubs in the outlying areas.

macraven - I'm w/you, what little compensation I earn goes to feed my mouse habit (and apparantly tip strippers LOL)...I think I might be officially be considered retired at this point.

that's a bummer that you don't know anything more than you did when you went in there! I think everyone has to see for themselves what a strip club actually is...but i can assure you, my kids will NOT see the inside of one of those until they are atleast 40!!

Forgot the strangest part of the visit. The office was shared by 2 brothers...(Pat) the ear specialist & (I kid you not) his brother (Pete) who was a combo gynecologist & psychologist! Opens up a lot of territory there. I'm bowing out gracefully.

Looking on the bright side, I do know something more than I did when I went in there - that middle DS's been getting entertained by the ladies. Can you hear my purse strings tightening?

micky4ver - quite a switch-ero that would be. Family is wearing me down & clamoring for a trip next year to encompass Phoenix/Grand Canyon/Vegas & the original motherland - Disneyland. Sounds like a heck of a lot of driving (and a chunk of change too), even though we're supposed to fly in or out of Phoenix one way. Any input on their airport - easy to navigate?

yes, mac, it would be my mini-family...they have had their house up for sale, but no nibbles, so until someething happens, I don't get hopes up...

Bob....for all it's beauty and good weather (I know how you golfers think.. ) there are a lot of draw-backs to the area, and they are thinking of being closer to us and the rest of the family....my DIL doesn't mind being away from her's............ ...kinda like you don't mind being away from you MIL......if you get my drift

Night all.......oh, the right one left Idol tonight...........but I will give the kid props, he left with dignity and didn't get all wooky like Ayla and the other girl did........

Anyone think, for just a minute, that Chicken Little was going to "lose it" when they asked for a comment when he got voted off AI? When he paused for a minute, I was waiting for him to start swearing like a sailor.

IMO, he's one of those calm, deep pools of troubled waters - those are the ones you have to watch out for?

i eat more since i joined curves. i figure i burn some calories so i can do that.

got on the scale and after 2 days of exercising, gained 2 pounds.

gee, if i continue doing curves, i will get fatter.


the bagel sounds like a good deal to me.

i could not stand kevin.......he was a rude brat thinking he was a somebody.

Muscle weighs more than fat must be toned already.

I gained weight on Atkins (of course ), supposedly because I didn't eat enough to get into the zone. No-duh, I'm middle-aged, have no metabolilsm to speak of & I love sweets & potato chips. Middle DS lost 100 pds in 6 months but, started to put weight back on when he started going to the gym, although he still looked fit.
If it weren't for needing to walk miles @ the parks, I'd probably never walk the track. Of course, I don't venture out until it hits 50 degrees. I sense my butt growing by the minute.
