WELL Deena, we didn't want to be late.............but a big HURUMPH here... I told a certain someone that I had the 20th on my calendar...and they assured me I was mistaken ....but this certain someone knows I love em...........just kidding around.........and for once the Old Wise One was not wrong......... So, we can say we are still celebrating from last year, or just early for this year..........HeLLo...we'll just continually celebrate all the birthday's everyday for the rest of this year....PARTAY time

Ok....here's the angry man story....This was the start of my Christmas trip home on Dec. 23rd



I got to OIA yesterday morning at 5 a.m. for a 7 a.m. flight. That in itself was not fun. Took a tad over an hour to get checked in and past security and to the gate. Then the adventure begins. At 7:30 we are still sitting on the ground. About 7:50 we get off the ground and on our way. A few minutes later the pilot come on and apologizes for the delay and says there was an electrical malfuntion with the aircraft and everything is fine now. It was SO nice of him to tell me that when we were SO HIGH UP IN THE SKY!!!!

Get to Chicago at 9:30-ish I guess and I have a connecting flight to Memphis at 10:10 !! Now I have no clue where to go or how to get there. NO problem there will be a gate agent there when we land right?? WRONG !!! I find a departure board and find my next flight. Guess what? There is no information other than it's in Terminal C...Ok where am I ?? Yep...TERMINAL B !!! Make my way to C and find another baord. There it is!! Hold it....No gate number and no departure time?? SO I find another gate, I think the plane was going to India,(you will see why later) and ask about my flight. The agent starts pecking away at the computer and looks up and says "This plane is coming from Mexico and there is a slight problem...It's going to be 4 hours late arriving here if it gets here at all".

Ok....well I may not be the brightest bulb in the box but I KNOW I don't want on that plane IF it does make it in.

So she asks if she can find me another flight and I tell her ..yes please do or you can drive me to Memphis. I don't think she wanted to drive so she got me on another flight that left at 12:15....first class seat even.

I make my way to that gate and check in when they start boarding. The lady asks if I have my bag?? Uh...no it's a big bag..I checked it when I left Orlando. She says let's hope it makes it to Memphis with you . HOLD IT..what do you mean "let's HOPE"??

Well it takes 2 hours to transfer a bag when you change flight plans sir.....I say to her...It's been 2 hours..and it's not like you took my bag off of the plane I got here on and put it on another now is it because the OTHER plane isn't here to put it on!

Will I know BEFORE this plane leaves if my bag is on the plane? "Oh no sir.....but you will know when you arrive at your destination and your bag doesn't come off the plane".

This is where I almost spent Christmas in Chicago charged with assault!!! The look I gave her must have confused her...she says "What's wrong sir??" I said did you HEAR what you just said to me?? That I won't know if my bag is on the plane until I get to Memphis and it's NOT there???"

Yes sir.....I said that.....I guess it would have been SIMPLE ASSAULT so I decide against it... Anyway ..I get on the plane and we are finally bound for Memphis! I get there around 2 and yep...Simple Simon was right...Now I know...It's not here!!!

I go to the ticket office and file a missing bag report and tell them that all the Chritmas gifts for my family are in that bag. They assure me it will be in my hands by 5:00 p.m. They will deliver it to me. Guess what??? She lied.....At 6:00 p.m. I start trying to find a LIVE PERSON to help me find my bag. The automated number they gave me to call doesn't work. I bet they knew that! At 9:00 p.m. I finally got a person in Customer Service...But they were in INDIA!! They must have just got off the flight from Chicago!!

Now in your best 7/11 voice read the rest of this...I'm sorry sir that we have done this to your bag. I can tell by your voice that you are very very angry man...

NO **** BABOO I WANT MY ****IN LUGGAGE!!

Thankyou sir for telling me.... that can you hold for a moment ?
(I think Baboo **** himself) He comes back to the phone and say Mr. uh...um...Mr. Angry man..(he can't say my last name because there is no camel lisp in the spelling) I can have your bag to you in 72 hours..your very welcome sir thankyou OK??

No Baboo.....NOT OK...when I got on your plane I didn't say "Here is my bag...I won't need this for 72 hours so get it to me then ok"? FIND IT....FIND IT NOW OR GIVE ME SOMEONE WHO CAN HELP ME BECAUSE IT IS EVIDENT TO ME THAT YOU HAVE SLURPEE FOR BRAINS!

Stooperbisor person was much better...he could say my NAME at least. This idiot asked me...(still use the 7/11 voice here too folks) Mr. Sir...what is your fax numer?? MY FAX NUMBER??
I don't have a fax number you idiot the fax machine I was carrying is in the bag too!!! Now this clown turns into Baboo II ...I'm berry sorry Mr. Angry man..(there goes that no lisp spelling thing again)....we will find your fax machine. ARRRRTGGGGGGG!!!! LUGGAGE you IDIOT...LUGGAGE...forget about the damn fax machine!!!

At this point I'm ready to join the Marines so I can go to INDIA !! He then tells me he is going to "E-MAIL bag claim person in Memphis and tell him of my problem." I say... "Why dont you CALL someone??" I'm sorry Mr. Angry Man...I have no phone numers to call only e-mail and Fax Numbers......Mr. Angry man do you have a fa.. Baboo if you ask me for a fax number again I'm gonna reach through these little phone holes and choke the curry out of you!!! FIND MY BAG!!!

Ok... Hold on Mr.Faxman I send e-mail.

After an hour of The Babbo Show I decide to go to Memphis airport and look for myself. Of course no one is at the ticket counter at 10: p.m. ! So I go down to baggage claim and all I see is 2 baggage workers sitting on cart shooting the ****.
I tell them what is going on and one of them looks up and says..."Was it supposed to be on that screwed up flight from Chicago this morning sir?? Why...yes..yes it was I said to him.

Was it a great big green canvas bag sir? Yes..Yes it was !! He found my bag..He found may bag!!!
Then the guy says "Do you live in Orlando? There is a tag on in with an Orlando address"...YEP THAT'S MINE....as I reach for my ID to show that guy I am who I say....He looks at me and says just as seriously as he can......"Sorry sir haven't seen a bag like that around here" The other guy whopps him in the head and says hang on pal..It's here I'll go get it..don't pay any attention to that fool he thinks he's funny....

So he brings out the bag...by this time me and Mr. Funnyman are rolling in laughter because that guy IS funny...I slipped them both a 20 and took my bag.......That was the most sincere "Merry Christmas Sir" that I think I have ever heard a stranger say to me.........Thanks guys......You saved the day.

I like that one on the blue collar comedy....when the guy goes to the lost lugguge to file a claim and the lady ask if his plane has landed yet!!! He said no honey...just havin' an out of body experience!!

Michael got his first college acceptance letter today. I should be excited but instead Im just sad. I cant believe its already time for him to move away and go to college. Luckily its just a few hours away. I have a feeling he is going to be getting lots of visits from his mom. I think Matthew is going to have a hard time as well when Michael leaves for college.

Deena, you are having what I call a "happy/sad" moment....its kinda like a movie that is sad, but yet happy at the same time if that makes sense....I know what you are feeling....but 2 hrs. is very close when you look at the big picture, you can commute to see each other...........and you know, after he has been in school for awhile....you'll still miss him, but you will get more accustomed to his being away and it will be easier..

and remember, this is coming from the person who cried for months...(and still does at times) when her son moved 2000 miles away....so as hard as it is, you will be fine..........and you'll be so proud of him, the distance won't seem so great....

oh..and by the way, CONGRATULATIONS on his being accepted!!! that's awesome.........tell him I think that is wonderful

TVT...I nearly rolled out of my chair reading your story. I can definately identify with you.

Being in the Pharmaceutical business, I have dealings with many different people throughout the world. The toughest ones for me....have to be the Asians because of the language barrier.

On my flight home from Florida, there was this Asian contigent that had the 2 seats behind me (my dw was in the aisle seat behind my row) and 3 seats a few rows back. They were late and the last ones to board the plane. When boarding, the Asian man stepped in front of DW's seat with no problem and was seated but the Asian woman stayed in the aisle expecting my dw to get up to let her in. The jet Blue flight attendant practically pushed the woman into her seat saying we had to go. I'm sure the word LOCO as well as many other Chinese curse words were used while she was landing in her seat.

On the way out of the plane my DS (7) really had to go to the bathroom. I told him he had to wait until we got into the airport. He was dancing like a hip hop artist and the gentleman in the row in front of me said, "I'll wait so the little guy could go". My DW had my DD in her arms, DS was in front of her and I was still in my row. DW departed with DS and DD, I had my carry-on's and the car/plane seat.

Asian old lady decides she is going to try to get in front of me and the kind man that let my DS go ahead to the bathroom. Nothing doing, Big Dude comes storming out of the row (car seat and 4 carryons in tow) brushes up against Asian momma and looks back with the most empathic look and says "I'm sorry, I didn't see you there. Normally we exit the aircraft according to the rows and you were seated behind me!"

I get some Chinese curse words thrown at me and smile all the way off the plane. By the way, DS just made it and I thanked the nice guy again in the terminal.

Welcome TVT!!! I'm really happy you decided to hang out with our group. I had a blast with you and Deena this weekend. I couldnt have asked for a better time.

Adam - I had the most wonderrful time meeting you and your family. I can honestly say, I am the luckiest person for having gotten a chance to callyou my friend. You are as awesome in person as you are online. Im so glad we got the opportunity to meet. And I am defiantely going to try to meet up with everyone in April.

You dont know how hard these past few days have been not being able to talk to all of you. In the two years that we have been hanging out, you have become a huge part of my life. I love you all very much!!

Good morning....HAPPY 2nd Day of Celebrating Your Birthday little Momma....

Enjoy it my dear.........and get that computer running so you visit with us...are you have computer withdrawal yet???? I die when mine acts up...its like an appendage...I can't live without it.

Ok, came in the the owner/boss is back from Brazil...he came out of his meeting to introduce himself and said he will meet with me later... wish me luck......I really have enjoyed this first week here, I'm learning at a nice pace and everyone is SO nice...very professional atmosphere without stuffiness or high-handedness. The sales guys are great and all the fellows in the warehouse (and I seem to feel really at home with those blue-collar guys... ) are very nice. Got one younger kid in the warehouse who has a little 'tude on most of the time, but I'll deal with him...he's young and doesn't understand that life is a *it*h and that is just how it is.....HEY, I'll have Adam put him in contact with the Asian dude/dudette and let them fill him in....... Funny story Adam...I'm always amazed when American's are accused of being rude.............I've met some extremely rude foreigners in my travels....not saying they all are, have met some nice one's too, but.....

Speaking of which, I get a lot of calls here from Brazil and Italy....so I'm learning to deal with those accents........everyday I try and learn something about this business, it is so fascinating....there is some granite down in the warehouse that sells for $95 per square foot ...then figure the fabricators fee and installation on top of that.... I also learned that the top of edging you want fabricated...is charged by the foot also...whew...way out of my league....I'm a formica kinda gal We are just the wholesaler too................so that is a lot of cost after we sell the slab.
