Yep. We usually do the weekend after Christmas with my family. Unfortunately, since Christmas is on a weekend, that leaves us with New Years Eve weekend.

Here ya go Mac:

For Christmas Day we will have breakfast then open presents. Church and then back to home so the kids (young and old) can play with their presents. We are planning on going over my sisters house the following day so my little DD can meet with her Godmother who will be in from Mexico for a couple of days. I also have the entire week off as well as the prior Thursday and Friday so there will be a lot of relaxing around my house.

Wow listen to all you guys that have next week off! I am sooo jealous of you..I guess I could take it off since I am my own boss, but I chose to work it...maybe next year I will take it of!! No, I won't ....i say that every year and I always seem to end up working. I figure Dave is working and If i don't work I don't get paid....so...i just end up having kids.
I do have the 26th off though! That way my kids can play with their new toys without anyone else wanting a turn!

lets see, my #2 son is going back to guadalajara 2 days after christmas to spend two weeks with his "other family" in mexico. we are all excited for him and looking forward to him being able to go.

#1 son is going to be working 23-24-25-26 and he is going to let me babysit his cat, which we all know is really my kitty. in january, he will be going back to mexico just 4 days after i pick up #2 son from the airport coming back from mexico.

#3 son works on the eve and day after christmas.


i plan on eating chocolates on the days i do not have to cook.......looks like i will a few of those days............and i will enjoy every bit of it.,....lol

i diet better in warm weather than in cold. sweaters hide a lot on a gal.

Well, that's where my neice (my DD's Godmother) works in Mexico. She is attached to the US Embassy in Guadalajara. What a small world!

Dont feel to bad about I havent sent out any cards either. They are still sitting in the box.

I think Im pretty much done with my shopping. I still have a couple to pick up but I wont be seeing them right at Christmas time anyway so I can snag it later.

I did get the boys the things they asked for so I think they will love their stuff. Evan has been wanted some Darth Vader shoes that I found online and Connor wanted a Power Ranger SPD (which I didnt even think they made) but I found one!

Oh well, if i do new years cards I will put the whole family in it, if i just do xmas cards then i won't put anyone in them...so I like showing off my kids so I will probably do family pics in jan...unless i break the camera!!!

it's a beautiful city and they love americans there.
my one son goes to a community college near where we live.
he went thru them on an exchange and stayed in guadalajara this summer studying at university of guadalajara. it was a great experience for him as the host family has asked him back as a family member for christmas.
this son is close to being bilingual and plans to return to the summer school program there. the only problem is no english is allowed to be spoken at that school so he has to work hard for the technical words.

after he finishes up, he is transferring to the pre med progam next year at university of illinois chicago. then he goes to med school in guadalajara.
its a long haul but this is what he wants.

my brothers daughter married a man from guadalajara in late august. right now they are living in california with a lot of his relatives. i believe they will relocate in a year or so to mexico to reside.

i learn such great receipes from my family. we love mexican food ....well, we love all food.


deena, congrats on finishing up on the shopping. if it wasnt so cold here, i could do some shopping after taking another son to work today.

just not ready to go out and shop yet. but i like the idea of the cards of 2006 you gave pam. that's kewl !! are you feeling better yet?

I wish I hadnt done them. I ordered them, I havent sent any. But, here I ordered 40. THis is the first year I have ever done Christmas cards. I never got around to it before. But I thought..what the heck.

I was talking to my mom and I said, you know, I hope 40 is enough. I guess she thought I was inviting her opinion on who exactly I needed to send cards to. So she starts listing people that I need to send my cards to, but on top of that, a few of the people I have never met. I said, mom, I do have friends that I need to send the cards to as well. She was quite annoyed with me when I told her that.

I said to Lee, maybe I need to order more cards.

Now he is annoyed at me too.

Oh well, I just cant win with these two.

Next year, Im going back to not sending them. That way, there are no conflicts.

i would just send them to whoever you think you want to send them to! Why does your mom need a say so who you send your warm wishes for a merry christmas to?

Is how I determine who gets a card is I go down through my family( brothers, sister, mom&dad, aunts, uncles), dave's family, then friends. I don't usually send them out to my cousins because I have so many of them and they live close! Now, the cousins that live out of state i send them one.

I usually get between 50-75, but this year I got none!!!

Don't let them get down on you....it christmas...isn't everyone suppose to be in a good mood!?!?

I think we ordered 75 photo cards this year as well. DW sent out like 60 of them -- and I used the remainder for a couple co-workers and some of my online friends.
