Bob Watch Day 5

Not a good end to the summer here...

I got a call right before I left work yesterday from Nicole -- she was on her way to the ER with Cam.

He fell off our neighbor's monkeybars and broke his wrist. He has a couple hairline fractures and pushed the one bone up by something like 24 degrees. They set it in a splint and pushed the bone back down in place and he has to go see a pediatric ortho on Tuesday. Fortunately for him, it was his left hand (he's right handed) since school starts Wed.

As far as the job situation goes -- it now looks more and more like the part-time thing isn't going to happen after all. Long story short, they will have to find room in the budget for a 1/2 salary person, since they would fill my old position with a new person, not just switch me from full time to part time. In other words, my switch to part time would cost the department more money, not save them money. 'Budget' is a four-letter word around here.

oh bob, i am so sorry to hear the news you posted.

how is cam today? you know that has to hurt the little guy.
none of us as parents want to see our kids injured and have a broken bone.

maybe the part time job is still a possibility.
crossing my fingers and saying a prayer for you that it will work out.

be sure to let us know what the p surgeon says after cam sees him this week

bob sorry to hear about cam. Hope he heals quickly. That stinks about the part time gig....guess you may be sharing recipes with us soon unless they change their minds. You will stay busy though if you are going to volunteer at cam's school.

mac--did you sleep good last night?


i am thinking about running to lincoln today...haven't completely decided yet. If i don't go today i will go tomorrow as i have to get a few things up there.

I've been a slug all day, and just popped on here...and read Bob's news...oh dear, poor Cam, but you know, little boys do these things, hope it all works out ok and the orthopedic doc can fix him up...he may get a cool cast, and that will cheer him up....I'm so sorry to hear he got hurt...take care little Cam....

Bob, the old saying that things happen for a reason and one door closes and another opens may be the sayings for you about your job.....still crossing fingers for you.....I know you will end up doing the best thing....I gave you one up above, but here is another Another saying fits here too, when it rains it pours.....

We are heading out to a family gathering this evening, light fair...desserts to be #1 on list..... Might have a couple drinks just for fun

Pam, did you make it shopping? I was glad to stay home today...I've been running almost every Sat. since I don't know when...oh, the weekend I was sick I stayed home (not really now that I think of it, we went and bought the microwave)...well anyway, it was nice to veg today...slept late, been watching TV...did a little so the day is not a complete waste

supposed to go out and eat mexican food tonight.
that is a maybe, depends on the weather and mr mac. he laid down to take a nap and is still asleep.

guess i could go and bring him back a doggy bag.

if i get busy with laundry tonight, have a good one tonight and i'll have your backs tomorrow. going to church on sunday. then come back and finish the laundry that i don't get done with tonight.

Have a good sunday everyone. I am off to Lincoln today since I didn't get there yesterday. I bought a new bookshelf for the downstairs so I ended up putting that together and getting som stuff done down there so by the time I got that all done I didn't feel like going yesterday.

Just a quickie to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MAC!!!! Last day of vacation for me. I can't wait to get back to work for some rest. Bob, so sorry to hear about Cam. I have 2 boys that are always breaking something so I know how you feel. I'll have to go back and find out about your job status but I know you will make the correct decision. bob - double whammy, sorry to hear - hope all works out for you & your family , make sure to get a waterproof cast

hope you all had a great day, we had tons of fun @ Kennywood. Only one who got burnt was DS managed to spend 9 days in Orlando, and a couple in Sandusky he looks okay today; was using the Dermablast spray & aloe last night.

Off to eat Chinese (yuck sound gross this early) and to deal with seller of home oldest DSs looking at. I don't have my game going today, need more coffee.

Pam - I think I forgot to tell you how cute those pics of your kids were! I'm glad you were able to hold it together when Aubrey went off for the first time.

Bob - how awful about Cam. Poor guy It's no fun when one of yoru kids gets hurt. And I agree with Gant, hopefully the best decision will be reached.

Keisha - hope the house negotiations and inspections go well. It must have the Mom's seal of approval

i went to church this morning and it went way over.
the pastor announced it was my bd and the congregation clapped then sang happy birthday to me.

they never do that in our church and well, it took me back and was a surprise. i was embarrased....

doing some laundry and have to stop and do a grocery store run.
forgot the noodles that i need to make the spaghetti.....oops


i'll be back.

my son david took me to franks diner in kenosha at 7 this morning.
birthday breakfast and it was great.
franks diner is on the tv food network in the diners, drive ins and dives.
i had the garbage plate. yum yum

if you can, catch that show. its on today and the rest of the week.

I will try and catch that show OH....IT'S ON RIGHT NOW...bye.......I love those shows on FN that show how they make candy, and I LOVE the shows at Halloween when they show how they make all that good Halloweeny stuff Don't be embarassed, that was nice of your congregation to recognize you, you always help out, so I'm sure they thought it was fitting........now on to pressing details....how does it feel to finally reach 39 years old

LOL Mac, so sorry, I made that HUGE mistake by tacking a year onto your age I know what it's like to celebrate the 17th anniversary of my 39th birthday

The show was great...that place looks so fun! It seems so small, but old diners were like that. Was it crowded when you went in? and were those 2 gals that own cooking? Very cool indeed. That is a LOT of food to eat, but I bet it is all good.

Off to try and finish the book I'm reading before turning in. It was so nice to veg out this weekend.......it hurts my head though thinking of everything that needs to be done around here

Can you believe in 2 weeks it will be Labor Day Where does time go
