Good Morning everyone. How was your weekend?

Yes I was one of the geeks who spent my weekend reading HP.
I started the book at 745pm on Sat. and finished it last night at 1230.
I guessed right about who was on the side of right and wrong, but boy she can really stirng you along. I won't say more incase others are reading or want to.

i just picked the book up last night for trent. he was up late last night reading it..not sure how far he got...he is still sleeping.

bob - we've never swan @ the lighthouse beach, either @ the one near the monument or 6/7 where they have the big bath-house...hate all the sand for 2 hours on the way home.

I picked the Econolodge across from the entrance to the causeway. Got a fantastic rate thru Sam's Travel on Choice hotels - if anyone wants the code & how to access let me know/much better than AAA. It's across from another choice hotel Quality Rainwater. I'm told they have a restaurant "Thirsty Pony", combo off track betting/restaurant/sports bar (try saying that 3 times fast lol). Also told we can walk to Castaway Bay's waterpark??

didn't see the thread re your nephew, regardless - best wishes for speedy recovery.

mic read something in the travel section of local newspaper yesterday as to an annual lighthouse weekend in Sept. out your way; the idea is to visit X # of them & collect pins? You might want to check it out.

ed - i still haven't finished the 1st book , i have resolved to start reading them again next month...no spoilers please. Not sure how i'll manage to not hear the ending though. DH is 1/2 way thru his book.

pam - do you read HP too? Isn't it nice to see your kids, especially boys enjoy reading; nice break from sports, etc.

tony - perhaps we should send out the hounds to search for ocm?

We've eaten at that sports bar/OTB place (with a bowling allew inside, on top of all that). Yep, it's literally across the street from Castaway Bay.

okay, i have to vent dave took our laptop in to get fixed today before he takes aubrey to her eye dr. appt. well, he just called me and said the store was closed, gone, cleaned out!!! I then called the 1-800 # i found on the computer and guess what?!?!?!? I have to send the dang thing in but first they have to sit here on the phone with me and figure out what is wrong with it umm it won't turn on...that's what is wrong with it! so i am sure i will be lucky if i have it back in a month!!!

i figured that's where bob's hand was.
cam would have very , very, very long legs looking at that pic if he wasn't held up by the dad.

well, that is where i thought it was but then looking at the picture it kinda looked like it was in your pocket. I was thinking you must be pretty strong to lift cam up with one arm and it didn't look like you were straining

pam has sharp eyes (and no computer store ); hope you can send it somewhere, still bigger pia.

my eyesight is failing, need reading glasses nearly ALL the time now, on vacation my sony cybershot's viewfinder kept shrinking lol. At the time it was state-of-the art, all i could see w/my glasses was a tiny blur - talk about point & shoot.

decided to treat myself, cash in all my best buy cards i've been hoarding (dh's picking up the rest ) and got this little number (smaller than a pack of smokes & the front slides to protect the lens), should be @ the store tomorrow. So cool, has face recognition and picture stabilization; now i have no excuse cutting off anyone's head.

I specifically didn't want one with the lens that has to move, had it stick on the Sony more than once & need repairs. DH has a much more elaborate Fuji SLR that you can either fiddle with or just shot (don't think he likes me touching it lol).

did get the router set up but todd's laptop won't work with the card.
his laptop is going on 5 years old and not compatable to the card for wireless.
he is so sad.

Mac, sorry you had a long day yesterday, my day at work was the Monday from hell....could you tell? I wasn't even around at all.....and then I was just wore out from all the drama when I got home

Pam, sorry bout the computer...break down and buy a new one and get away from that place....all you have had is a or so it seems with this one

KS, nice camera. I'm looking to upgrade my digital. It is/was a nice Canon, but a little bulky from what they have now. I think the feature I'm seeking now though is a lot of zoom on it to get better close ups from a distance. I'm with you baby, can't see a thing without the reading glasses OVER the contacts, or bifocals in my regular glasses....ah, the lovelies of growing old

morning all!

had a heck of a night...sat straight up in bed at 4 am with a charlie horse in my calf. after that i could NOT get comfy so i have been up since 4.

mic--we have a 3 yr. warranty on it so after that expires we will probably get something different. The last time we took it in it wasn't the computers fault...it would be noah's...he knocked some keys off of it.

mac--i hope you have a better day today.

tony--get out there and make us some new toast.....and don't burn it this time!!!!!

ocm--how was your trip to dc?

Good morning everyone. Well, my budget is all done so I am on auto-pilot for now. Doing a team-building event on Thursday that includes going to the Phillies game in Philadelphia. I think they're playing the Nationals from down Mic's way.

Pam, the sibling get-together went fabulous. We caught lots of crabs and had a nice BBQ after.

Bob, will say extra prayers for your nephew.

He loved it He was bumming that they lost that day, but otherwise, he had a great time.

We have tickets for this Sunday's game against a certain team from Boston. It's my wife's firm outing.

yum, pretty colored donuts today

thanks to the budget thread, i got a heads up on a mickey waffler that i've been watching prices for years. Since i've never made a waffle didn't want to spend $50 & be stuck with it. I came yesterday for less than $15 thru HSN. I'm not a qvc type of gal, appears as thou hsn is a 'downsale' version?

pam - glad to hear your friend likes it, i need something really simple, let's call it blonde proof.

mic - surprising specs for the camera, 6.3 mp, 3X optical, 6.2X zoom. bells & whistles I liked: internal built in memory plus the removeable card, settings for fireworks, beach, snow, even a dual shot mode where it takes a natural light, then a flash in rapid succession for review. I may actually read the instructions for the 1st time. I've had such problems with the lens that retracts on my sony & the bright light/slow pic issues, have vowed to stay away from them.

Off to the big city to pick my toy up, have a good one.
