spent last hour or so chasing away a brood of ribbon snakes (garter-variety) in the back yard; just when i thought i was safe to go barefoot to the garden...ewwww.

they were only about 1-1/2 feet long, very quick; my poochie tends to get sick when she eats them...double ewww.

wonder if i relocated them all, will be sure to let you know . Why is it every time i find them, DH is working?

the birthday boy & youngest son took in Simpsons, they weren't blown away. Both big fans, said they enjoyed it; just was expecting more. Isn't keeping youngest from making plans to see it with anyone he can pin down in the days to come...think i'm on board for tomorrow if he can't locate any of his buddies.

ocm has been lots of road trips, wonder if she's sick of driving?

Evening....sorry I never got back on today, once again I was busy plus I am a sick chick....told you guys my throat was scratchy, well started sneezing this afternoon and some of the "head" part of having a cold descended upon me. I'm working hard to fight with it, taking my Airborne, mucus tablets, antihistamine and doubling up on my vitamins...I'm hoping it doesn't get ahold of me....everyone think good karma thoughts for me

Bob, I kinda thought you were mixed up either with the day you were attending the game or who you would see the Indian's play....it was an excellent series though! Have fun on your kiddie-less weekend!!

KS, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the legal beagle!! Sure hope it is a good one for him. The guys here love the Simpson's also, but don't think they are much into seeing the movie. I thought they were going to go see Transformers..but not yet.

The gal I work with and her husband have drag racing cars....a couple of us from work were planning to go watch them race tomorrow, depends on weather (it has sorta rained here this evening) and how I feel tomorrow. PLUS, my dumb microwave that my husband INSISTED was working just fine for him, wouldn't cook his frozen dinner tonight so 2 points for me, I KNOW what I'm talkin' bout when I say it ain't gamma raying the food properly...so guess we need to get a new one this weekend at some point. I admit it, I'm attached to my microwave, I'd be lost without it.

I'm off to lay down, I'm feeling stuffy and sleepy...

finally done with fixing dinner.
made 3 different meals tonight.

beef stroganoff
mac and cheese
tuna salad tossed in shells with egg, dill pickle, onion and celery
bbq chicken breast on the grill.


i thought friday nights were pizza nights. well, it used to be when the boys were little. it was my no cook day.

came back to say, eat the chicken in the soup or is that chicken soup...

it will help clear your head. it's the fumes i tell you that helps.


sure do hope you start to feel better. what you have sounds like it will knock you on your **** tonight.

get lots of bed rest and drink plenty of water.

yum, all sound good to me except perhaps the mac & cheese; at too much of that when i was little

now that i think of it, tony did say she was flying...d'oh

mic - summer time colds sux; hope you feel better soon; i'm big on gargling with vinegar/salt water solution or tea/lemon; chase it down with a benydryl and italian wedding soup for good measure. If all else fails send DH to the liquor store & buy some rock n rye . Amazing that was the advise from family dr. back in the day.

I was attached to my old mw too, it was a combo one & could be used as a toaster oven to brown things. When the bathroom pipe broke, it was one of the casualties. Still not used to the replacement. It doesn't have a way to set the defrost to % (50, 80, 100 etc.); only buttons for food type (boneless chicken breasts, etc.). Problem is it shuts off every 30 sec. or so & you're supposed to check it; then hit restart.

morning all!

not such a good one here. took aubrey into the dr. this morning and she seems to have a yucky throat. they didn't do a strep culture on her but is treating it as such. She is acting fine so once i get some med. in her we(aubrey and I) are going to head to Lincoln to pick out some new glasses for her. I want her to have them before she starts school.

Mic--so sorry you are feeling under the weather...hope you get better real soon.

ks--seems like you can never find the things that you had when it is time to replace it. they always seem to be "better" but tend to die sooner

mac--sounds like a yummy spread you had...i took the fam damily to chinese last night

I've decided upon the advise of my dear test friends, to hit the bottle... to chase this stuff away...J/K friends, drinking a mug of hot tea and had some scrambled eggs...all is not lost, I can taste the food.....

We made a quick trip to town, to Lowes, got a cheapo microwave and stopped by Sam's for some fruit...couldn't wait to get back home to just lay in bed...

I'll be back and forth from bed to here, no more going out for me today...I'm blah for sure..........can't believe this is the first full-blown cold I've had in about 2 yrs...guess I can't complain...but I would like to say I NEVER caught a cold.......plus it's weird in the summer.......ick
