We've been saving Tesco vouchers for over a year now on the basis that they will be used towards a holiday they are worth 4 times their value. Very interested in using them for DLP :goodvibes

Anyone else done this ? How easy did you find it and did you just book hotel and tickets or was transport included ? :)

I've not done this but I have done some research.

You have to book a package with either Cresta or Bridge which must at least include travel and accomodation. For all Disney hotels it seems to incude tickets too but you buy them separately from the brochure for offsite so for AP holders you could book that.

I found the prices to be inflated from all the tips I've got from you guys ;) so in the end I used my vouchers towards something else. But it maybe worthwhile if you spend more than we do .

We have done this with our vouchers for our DLP trip on Jan 31st.

We booked over the telephone with Cresta who were very helpful. The total holiday cost must be at least £500 though.

We booked four nights staying at the Sequoia Lodge for 2 adults and 2 children with Eurostar transport and park tickets for £586, which we were happy with. :cool1:

We already had £102.50 worth of vouchers which gave us £410 in holiday vouchers so the amount of cash we had to lay out was minimal.

Hope this info is helpful and if you need to know anything else just ask. :wave2:

Thanks guys for your input. Will have a look at this. So far Diane has saved £108 :)

I booked my recent trip to Seqoia Lodge entirely with Clubcard vouchers:sunny:

I booked through Paris Travel Service (Bridge) and because I booked more than three months in advance they gave me a fifty pounds discount.
I the pack they sent were lots of money off vouchers (20% off at Planet Hollywood including drinks) and Disneyland Paris Autograph books for the children.
I didn't do price comparisons because DH only agreed this trip on the basis that it wouldn't cost us anything (except the four hundred pounds or so we spent on food and souvenirs;) !) The cost of eurostar Ashford to DLRP, 3 nights at SL and unlimited park entry was six hundred and thirty five pounds - in vouchers.

Seriously though I use the clubcard scheme a lot and do very well out of it. We got two thousand pounds off our Orlando trip last year, and this year it has paid for DLRP and a week at Centre Parcs in Normandy in August.

May I ask how you got £2000 off your Orlando holiday. I was saving my Tesco vouchers for a new sofa from MFI but I'd rather use them to save on our holidays in 2007.

We used them last year and this year. You can use them with Bridge, Cresta, Leger and Paris Travel Service (they are all part of the same group but have different brochures). You must book direct with one of those companies and not via a travel agents.

Also you need to order the vouchers (the ones were they convert your existing clubcard vouchers into 4 X its value) before you book the holiday because they have to be sent in to the travel company as soon as you book the holiday (send them Special Delivery!). Once the holiday is booked and your vouchers have been applied to the holiday you cannot add any further vouchers (so make sure there are not some due out in the next few weeks!!!).

I think we saved almost £300 this year and will continue to save Tesco points every year especially for DLRP! (Rosie you must have HUGE grocery bills to save £2000!!!)

For us the process was easy. The booking/reservation line at Bridge/Cresta are very helpfull. The only downfall booking direct with them is that their customer service lines (used after you have a holiday booked) are very very busy and I have been cut-off on the phone 5 times by them!

Hi Lizzy Lemon

I suppose my weekly shopping bill at Tesco is about one hundred and fifteen pounds on average. To get extra points I do the following;

  • Have a Tesco Credit Card and pay for everything I can on it, I always settle up every month so no interest charges.
  • Join all Tesco's clubs - Wine Club, Good Food, Organics, Healthy Living. All these clubs entail getting vouchers for extra points.
  • When I am going to buy something - anything, I see if I can buy it from Tesco before shopping elsewhere.
  • Buy goods which give extra points in the store - but only if its something we want or need anyway.
  • Send DH shopping sometimes and use other Tesco stores occasionally. When we change our shopping habits we are often with extra points coupons issued at the checkout with our receipt.
I saved up the Clubcard vouchers for eighteen months to get the Two Thousand pounds discount on our Orlando holiday. I booked that direct with Premier who were then in the Clubcard scheme. I think there are at least two companies still involved in the scheme who offer Florida holidays and at least three who offer DLRP.

I have used the Clubcard scheme since it began to fund Holidays. My DH used to think it was a bit sad because I really researched it - but he doesn't complain about the money off!;)

Wow Rosie I can see how it pays for you!

I guess my average weekly bill is £70-£85 and on that I earn about £300 a year in holiday vouchers. I always fill up the car at the Tesco petrol station but I don't use much petrol. I don't like to use credit cards but I can see how it really helps to build up the points :thumbsup2

This is brilliant I tend to just spend mine as they arrive but if I started saving I could also start planning the 2007 trip

As it looks like there are a few of us saving these, hopefully we can keep the encouragement of each other :goodvibes

Other thing I forgot to mention is that with Bridge, Cresta, Leger and Paris travel Service - the total value of the holiday must be over £500 and cannot be accomodation only (a package with breakfast would be ok)
