Terri's remains after death

Also, although I usually agree with Glen Beck, I saw on his website there are pictures of t shirts, key chains, and coffee mugs for sale. The t shirt has MS picture on it and says --

I starved my wife to death and all I got was this lousy t shirt.

The weirdos will march in front of his house with them on...

Wow! As someone who disagrees with the removal of the tube (and hence, "theorectically" on the same "side" as these people), I just can't understand this. :confused3

Yes BUT I'm asking again - where have you heard that MS doesn't want an autopsy done?

I don't fault him for moving on, I fault him for not divorcing her first.
If he divorced her, then he could not have seen out and fought for her last wishes. I would not want DH to put his total life on hold, while I sit there as a vegetable, with no hope for recovery. See my last wishes out, that's all I ask for.

Again...what do you think an autopsy is going to prove?

If he divorced her, perhaps he might not have the same rights to carry out her wishes. Sure as hell, the Schindlers would be using THAT fact against him.

And honestly...does the lack of a divorce really change everything for you? You'd fully support him, and his right to carry out Terri's wishes, and be on his side in this battle with the Schindlers, if he had JUST DIVORCED her before moving on with his life???

Yeah, me too. I love to listen to him, but when I checked the site this a.m. I was really shocked to see it. Children do not need to deal with that.....

OMG! This is a perfect example of damned if you do and damned if you don't. Can this poor man do anything "right"? :sad2:

That is exactly what I thought when I read the first comment!! He just can't do anything right in some people's minds. sad.

If I seem sensitive to this issue, it's because I am. Terri was raised Roman Catholic I'm assuming. There was a need to clarify because people keep saying just Catholic. I belong to the Holy Catholic Church but I'm certainly not Roman Catholic.

Well, (and I totally mean no disrespect to your church here) I think when one refers to the Catholic Church, most people pretty much assumes one to belking about the Roman Catholic Church, especially in a case such as this, where her religion has been so publicized.

On a side note, I have never heard of the Holy Catholic Church. I am assuming it's beliefs are differing somewhat to those of the RCC. Do you, by chance, have a website that you could direct me to in order to satisfy my curiousity? :)

Actually, I was hoping for everyone's sake it might DISPROVE the abuse claims so any doubt over the case can be put to rest. Maybe it won't prove anything, but at least the really radical groups won't point out for the next 20 years that he didn't do one because he was trying to hide something....

I am sorry you are assuming I am trying to be unfair. I am really not trying to do anything but find closure for all sides, including MS's new family...

Please show me where I ever said I support Michael Shiavo.

Just curious...what's the Holy Catholic Church? I've honestly never heard of it. I thought the term Roman Catholic Church encompassed all Catholics, except for the Greek Orthodox Church. Is Pope John Paul II the leader of the Holy Catholic Church also, or do you have some other hierarchy? Not being sarcastic...truly just being curious as I've been a Catholic all my life and wasn't aware of other factions.

Edited to add: I did a Google search and found information on it myself. Very interesting...you learn something new everyday.

The Holy Catholic Church is an Anglican church, right? That's as much as I know. Hopefully Ali will be back with more info.

:rotfl2: You have never heard of Christianity? All Christians belong to the Holy Catholic Church. I am a member of the United Church of Canada. It is a Catholic denomination just like Roman Catholicism. I am really tired of Roman Catholics claiming ownership over catholicism. I'll end my rant now.

PS - Do I really need to provide a website to prove this? It seems so common sensical to me.

Ali, people are interested in your religion and this is how you treat them? And no, not all Christians belong to the Holy Catholic Church. All Christians belong to The Church.

I guess I'll provide a definition of Catholic because it doesn't seem as common sensical as I originally thought. This comes from dictionary.com.

# Of or relating to the universal Christian church.
# Of or relating to the ancient undivided Christian church.
# Of or relating to those churches that have claimed to be representatives of the ancient undivided church.

It seems to imply, IMHO, that that was MS's big "sin", and were it not for the fact that he didn't divorce her before so rightly moving on, you'd be supporting him. :confused3

I don't know too many Christians that don't belong to the communion of Saints which is the holy Catholic church. Here's is a link to the Apostles Creed as professed by most Christians. Please note the line "I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy *catholic church".

He is legally married to Terri but he is shacked up with his girlfriend with whom he has produced two children.
So what?
Should he have lived for 15 years in celibacy?
Isn't it a sign of affection that he still cares for his braindead wife even so he has a new family?
And BTW This is the 21st century: You don't have to be married to have and to raise children. So you should refrain from derogatory remarks like 'shacked up'.

Nevermind. Sarcastic people really bug me. You do note that in the Apostle's Creed, "holy catholic church" is not capitalized, right. You capitalized it, which lead me to think it was an actual denomination. I fell right into your snare, I guess.

Presbyterians are also part of the holy catholic church. It is part of the Apostles Creed, which is in our worship service every Sunday. Note the lowercase "C." The word "catholic" means universal.

Oops -- posted at the same time. Sorry.

I know how important it is to my mother to be able to go to the cemetary and "visit" graves. I hate to say it, but I don't do it. It seems to be something the older generations do (although, I know there are exceptions). To deny Terri's parents a final resting place, shows the true vengance in his heart.
