Terrible flight prices - Alaska

This is where I'm at. I've always gotten super cheap airfare through Alaska from Seattle or Portland. I'm going to wait a month or so and see if the SEA to SNA goes down. If it doesn't I'll book into LAX.

We have noticed this too, for at least the last 6 months. We flew Delta in February (SEA to SNA). It was great. Felt like more room too.

Come in Alaska- give us our $200 (or less!) airfare back!

I was tempted by that SW fare, but stops are rough.

We’re spoiled!

I booked flights on Delta back in February for our October trip. After 2 cancellations and 3 drastic changes (12 hrs+ different than what I originally booked), I ended up canceling and getting a refund. I rebooked with American. I'm certainly expecting more changes before October gets here, but hopefully they won't be as dramatic as what Delta was doing. Air travel is certainly a nail-biter right now.

I am very tempted to book Delta but am hoping to get some info from you on your situation. Was it difficult to get your refund? The flight I'm looking at is at the perfect time for us from SNA.

I booked main cabin, which was supposed to be changeable, but not refundable. I got advice on this board about reading Delta's "contract of carriage" which is basically the fine print, and differs for every airline. In it, Delta states that if your flight is changed more than 2 hours from your original booking, you can request a refund, regardless of ticket type.

When I contacted Delta, they told me they wouldn't refund me, as soon as I mentioned their contract of carriage, they immediately transferred me to a supervisor and she processed the refund.

Oh that is perfect. I'll definitely read the fine print. Thank you for the response.

I did it. I booked Delta. The flight time is perfect so that we have a a sold seven hours in the park before we have to head back to the hotel and go to the airport. The kids will still be home about 10 pm so they'll be tired for school the next day but still be functional. We get to fly out of SNA and I saved $240 on tickets. I'm nervous to fly an airline I'm not used to but I figure if the flight gets cancelled that can just be an extra day of vacation.

Once things go back to somewhat normal I'll go back to my old ways of booking our flights six weeks out. The craziness of fuel prices, staffing and all that just had me nervous.

Delta is great
