Can anyone tell me more about this resort? What is the community pool like? Good for little ones (my kids will be 6 & 9 for our trip)? How bad is the drive to WDW? How long does it take to get to the parks from there? How much of a hassle is parking? Overall, how early would we have to be leaving the villa to get to a 9 AM rope drop?

We're currently planning to stay on site, but a friend of the family owns a couple rentals in Terra Verde and we could get a really great rate on a 3 bedroom townhome for less than half our discounted rate at the Dolphin. Normally, I'd stick to my on-site guns because of the cost of renting a car, but at $100+/night cheaper over 11 nights, the townhouse still comes out ahead for this trip, and since we'll have APs for this trip, we won't have to pay for parking. But I haven't stayed off site since I was a kid, so I have absolutely no idea how driving would be.

We own a 6 Bedroom Villa in Terra Verde. The location is great. You are about 10 minutes to Disney and it is a very easy drive. The Clubhouse pool is very nice and there is plenty for the kids. You can look on my site and see the pictures of Terra Verde if you like. I know you will enloy it there.

Terre Verde is a very nice, new gated development on Poinciana Boulevard.
The location is good, with restaurants and a Publix supermarket within easy reach.

PB is a very long and busy road, however Terre Verde is one of the nearest developments to the 192 junction.
I would say it's 5 minutes or so to 192 then an extra 15 or so to Disney, although we tend to go direct down 192 which is slightly longer route.

Personally I prefer the Formosa Gardens location, however TV is a very nice place to stay.

We just stayed here over Easter and LOVED, LOVED, LOVED it.

We did not use the pool and stuff because we were too busy at the parks, but it was very nice as was the clubhouse. The whole neighborhood was well maintained and pretty.

I would say that, on average, it took us no more than 15 minutes to get to the parking lots at Disney. Sometimes it was very quick and other times, we might have hit more lights. Sometimes coming back to our place in the evening, we would hit a small backup on Poinciana Blvd as they were doing road widening and would often have a lane shut down. But if you travel outside of normal "work hours" you would miss this. Poinciana Blvd. also seemed to be a "commuter" road so traffic would be a bit heavy during standard rush hours so you might want to think of that when trying to make a 9:00 a.m. rope drop. That was the only real negative thing about it and, believe me, it was extremely minor.

It was very convenient to the Wal-Mart for quick runs and we never felt really far from an off-site restaurant. The worst area, in my opinion, was getting over to Vineland near the Premium Outlet Mall when we wanted to eat at Bahama Breeze, that was really congested. But getting in and out of the parks was a snap.

I've always thought TV looked lovely in the photos. But we end up staying in closer developments to the WDW parks (and pay more to do it)

I will say that the drive from offsite (at least from 192 Formosa Gardens area developments) is a snap. Don't be afraid of staying offsite due to having to drive. And having extra space is really wonderful, not to mention saving a bundle over onsite stays.

Good luck with your search!

ps. We are also huge Tigers fans... when they are not blowing huge leads...:rolleyes1
