I think I'm the only person in the midwest that calls it "soda"

"pop" just does not sound like something i want to drink!! haha

everyone in my family says "pop" but i only remember ever saying "soda"
maybe it was some form of rebellion on my part... lol

In St Louis - it's soda. So in at least some parts of the Midwest "pop" is just weird...

I grew up in Ohio, I say Pop. My husband, grew up 15 minutes from me and says Soda. He corrects me most of the time.

Same in East Central Indiana... Any carbonated soft drink = "Coke"

Funny conversation I've had with a lot of people after moving to Michigan:

(I walk into a room holding a Pepsi)
Friend: I thought you said you were going to get a "Coke"?
Me: I did!

DOes this mean you have a conversation like this in a restaurant:

I'd like a coke, please.

What kind?

Diet Pepsi.

I'm from NY, we always called it soda. Pop is someone's grandfather ;)

Living where I live it just depends on who you talk to here. I have heard about everything. I call everything coke though.

At home I call it polar ( coke drinker the red label)
In rest. I order coke or pepsi
If I want sprite I order sprite
Root beer is beer or root beer depending on who/where I am.

I'm also one who isn't fond of cherry coke but loves coke with cherry. And just to drive DH nuts I drink Cherry Pepsi but dislike pepsi.
