Is this restuarant really outstanding or would you say it's just as good as your local Japanese Rest. . Thanks :earsboy: :earsgirl:

If you ask me it's really outstanding because I really like Japanese Habatchi restaurants but honestly it's about the same as our local habatchi restaurants except it's in Disney World, that must count for something!!

It is WAY better then anything local because we don't have a local Japanese rest :rotfl2: . It is good and the one time we were there we had a great chef that was a lot of fun and really put on a show. Our kids are really looking forward to eating there, I just hope we get a fun chef.

We were there in January and it was the highlight of our trip! The food was good and the cost wasn't outrageous (around $150-that includes the tip-for a family of 6). You'll love it there. :)

Do they offer fried rice or just the steamed rice? Our local Japanese restaurant has the best fried rice - I could just eat that for my meal!

The other Japanese steakhouses around here (Orlando) are much better than Teppanyaki, and cheaper as well. There's even a Benihana in the Hilton near DTD - I always recommend that instead of Teppanyaki at Epcot.

The Japanese steakhouses are better and cheaper in Tampa too and we were not at all impressed with Teppanyaki...
Also, they do not offer fried rice, just plain ole white rice.

I liked Arigato's in Clearwater, near the Countryside Mall (er, excuse me, "shoppingtown"), I grew up in Palm Harbor.

Yes the only serve steamed white rice. They will not make fried rice. I asked why not and was told because the Fried Rice is served in China at Epcot.

Personally, if the entrees are tasty, I can forego the calories and taste of the fried rice. My DDs love Benihana, but since it's not on the dining plan and Teppanyaki is... :flower:

Great, now I'm hungry. The dining board always does this to me!

Thank you for taking the link out for the website you never plan to update. Much appreciated.

Yes! We have an Arigato here and that is our favorite...we also like Kobe Steakhouse too, I believe they are a chain. They offer "happy sauce" at both those restaurants and we found the sauces boring at Teppanyaki. And they both offer fried rice as well. Just MUCH better food IMO.

The fried rice at the Japanese steak houses are so much different than Chinese fried rice - IMHO! I love them both, but they are different.

Huh? What are you talking about?

Nothing outstanding about Teppanyaki, IMO. We probably won't go back for a while.
