Our son is 5 adn a picky eater. Their childrens' menu states:" thin sliced strip loin, chicken, or shrimp, ruit salad, grilled veg, steamed rice, ice cream." (from wdwig.com). I know he will eat the steak, some fruit, rice adn ice cream.

Has anyone done this with picky kids and how did it go??

We took my neice to a similar restaurant at 5 (she was a picky eater then too) and she loved it. I think the "show" really helped peak her interest. Hopefully your son will do the same.

I watched my very picky nephews eat everything put in front of them. There have been quite a few posts here from parents who were surprised to see their children try and eat food that would never go over at home. IMHO, it's the chopsticks. The wait staff fix them up with a rubber band and the kids have so much fun eating with them that they forget "they don't like it", LOL.

If you already know your son will eat at least some of the food, give Teppanyaki a try. I think you will all enjoy it!

We just got back, and did Teppanyaki for lunch on Father's day. My kids (5 and 7) aren't terribly picky, but they tend to stick to known foods. They both got the chicken, and loved it. My youngest tried Daddy's lobster (I was shocked), and she loved it! Neither one of them likes zucchini or squash, but ate the zucchini like there was no tomorrow. The fruit is fresh and comes when you get your salad. The show definitely helps, as does the dipping sauces. The food is great, I think!
