We've been to both. Where we live (Vancouver), we have an abundance of Japanese restaurants that serve fresh sushi and cooked Japanese food. But we have no hibachi style restaurants where the chef cooks in front of you and does the show. So of course, my family gravitates toward Teppan Edo. Another case for Teppan Edo is that nothing is deep fried. Food is cooked on the grill in front of you. At Tokyo Dining, if you don't eat sushi, I found a lot of the menu items were deep fried.
