Since the new rule was made, there hasn't been anything said about people using tents on premium sites- are they still doing it. As long as we stay on our own site, does it look like this will be ok still?

We are here now at the fort in a premium site. The people to one side of us have a fifth wheel and a huge tent, on the other side of us they have a big class a, a tent, and a pop up! They are crammed in that spot. A few others around the loop have tents too.

Thank you so much Staceyrhood! I have been worried about this ever since they made the rule, and even tho we planned on still putting out tent up, at heart I'm really not a "rule breaker". But it sounds like as long as we don't infringe on others, it should be fine. Thank goodness, because there is no WAY we would all have fit in our motorhome! My boys would have slept on the ground before doing that! LOL 22 days until we leave! :cool1:

I put a tent on my premium site last week. I just made sure I wasn't intruding on to the space around us.

serenitygr,

It's only my opinion but I think Disney put the "no tent on a Premium" rule in to prevent a majority of disappointed first time campers. It's unlikely to be enforced.

Since the Premiums are big and wide but paved, there is not room in all cases to put a large tent off-pad. The sites are cleared somewhat to accommodate slide outs but not all have a 16' clearing around all sides for especially that monster tent that someone might bring (16x10) for example. I can imagine a first timer saying, "I paid all this money for a Premium site and there is no place big enough to stake down my tent".

For those people like you who are aware of the conditions and come prepared, the Fort will let you slide. But the wording is there so now if challenged, the CM can point to the description (Premium-no tents) and say, "see, we told you so". (although they prolly would never say this to a guest)

Don't sweat it - have a great trip. :worship:
