DF and I are hoping to have our Escape wedding at the WP on 10/21/2010. Does anyone know if it's still possible to have an Escape location 'tentatively' held at 12 months out, or is it 8 months for every location without exception?

Thanks in advance! I'm really nervous about getting our date.

They won't draw up a contract until 8 months out, but they will pencil your name in at 12 months. You will be assigned a coordinator who can answer your questions, etc. My coordinator, Stacey, was great...she kept me updated for those long 4 months and let me know if anyone else had shown interest in my date/location/time. She also made sure I knew the whole process, so the minute I hit my 8-month mark she sent off the agreement to my DF and me.
She was also able to check on locations I was interested in for my post-ceremony dinner. I knew at about 10 months that the Napa room at Cali Grill was already booked and that the Sonoma room was booked until 5:30. That gave us plenty of time to decide if we wanted to alter our dinner plans or our ceremony plans.

So technically nothing can happen until 8 months, but you can get a lot of information, get your name in their books and do a lot of planning (and get some piece of mind) before that point. :goodvibes

Thank you so so so much for the great info! I can't wait to call now and get the ball rolling! :thumbsup2

We are having an Escape Wedding at Sea Breeze Point on December 24 2009.
December 24, 2008 We contacted Disney one year in advance.

December 30, 2008 We were confirming our location/time choices with a wedding coordinator...lining up our first and second choices for location/time.

December 31, 2009 We had our time and space held and we were sent confirmation emails and information about all the different vendors.

January 3, 2009 We had been sent the letter of agreement to sign and send back.

January 13, 2009 Disney received our contract and sent us our official planning kit that's due a few months before the wedding.

So, although it says you can only tentatively hold it one year in advance...within twenty one days we had our date set in stone. :) :cutie:

I went back and the paper I have (unless it's changed VERY recently) says that with ESCAPE weddings...

"ONE YEAR IN ADVANCE OF WEDDING --- Twelve (12) months prior to your desired wedding date, we are able to tentatively hold space for your Disney Fairy Tale Wedding (for ceremonies at Disney's Wedding Pavilion, you may tentatively hold space beginning 8 months prior to your event.) Once you have requested your wedding date, your Escape Wedding Coordinator will connect you with a Wedding Preservationist to book a four night minimum stay at a Disney owned and operated resort. You will be required to notify your Escape Wedding Coordinator of your reservation number within (3) business days of holding your tentative space. Upon receiving your reservation number for your minimum (4) night stay at a Disney owned and operated resort, we will forward you information on moving forward to your letter of Agreement. Once we receive that information back form you, we will be able to offer you a Letter of Agreement. You will review the document, secure signatures of all responsible parties and return it with a $500.00 deposit. Soon after you sign the Letter of Agreement, you will assigned a wedding planner and receive your planning kit and may begin your Fairy Tale Wedding!"

That was a lot of text but I hope that helps!! I just know how anxious I got getting ready to reserve our date and the sooner the better!!

When I booked my wedding I was told that I couldnt do anything until 8 months. When I called at the 8 months the 2:30 time was taken so we went with the noon time slot (which worked out well for us!) But I always wondered about that 2:30 time slot. This is what we saw when we arrive at the WP!

:rotfl2::rotfl::rotfl2::rotfl: I guess I could have had the 2:30 slot!!:rotfl::rotfl2::rotfl:

I was told the 2:30pm slot was gone so went for noon as well, but after we'd signed the contract etc and had the first planning phone call I mentioned i'd have prefered the later slot, Kathleen went off and checked and said the Wishes bride hadn't gone ahead so I could change :woohoo:

Thanks again for the new posts! I wasn't expecting to BOOK now or start a contract earlier than 8 months, just asking if they'd still 'pencil' your interest in and give information at 12. Since success with this seems half and half I'm going to give them a call, couldn't hurt to try! At least I'll make my first DFTW contact anyway. I'll update after I call. :goodvibes

You can definately call at 12 months and get info and they'll make a note of what you want.

I guess it depends upon the sales representative because I called in May of this year for a December 2010 wedding and I was penciled in and was given an attachment in an e-mail with all the information and timelines and the upgrades etc but was told that I could not hold down a date until March 2010 for a December 2010 wedding, I could however start thinking of what we wanted so when I do call Disney in March, I would have a better idea in regards to upgrades etc..
